@CoreyJonesPVD@PPSDTruthTeller The way they have chosen to fund charter schools is by defunding the public schools. And those same public schools contain the students with the most needs like special education, newcomers and extreme circumstances like homelessness.
Is parental support one of the biggest factors in a child’s success at school?

Not screens full of “educational apps.”
Just:
reading with them
asking about their day
practising times tables
showing education matters

John Hopkins Report warned the central office was top-heavy at ~100 staff. Today it’s closer to 130 staff, a 30% increase, while enrollment dropped about 9% and school-based staff decreased in PPSD. Also, central costs rose nearly 48% since 2020. That math doesn’t help kids!
The question is, can schools do everything? The belief that schools can simultaneously serve as educators, mental health providers, and social safety nets assumes unlimited capacity and resources—an assumption that has repeatedly failed in practice.
