@stereonagis Proshipping IS about fiction. The difference is kind of loose, but profic is kind of a larger term covering all fiction, while proship is more specifically about non-harrassment over shipping speficially

@SpeedSymphony@NUCarnivalEn I read it kinda like he's surprised someone was able to read him, whereas Yakumo wouldn't have the confidence to assume someone couldn't read him to begin with
NU: Carnival - [Crimson Moon Heart] PV
Eiden, Blade, and Edmond are headhunted by the owner of the historic Klein Grand Theater to star in the classic tragic romance, "Crimson Moon Heart"—one last performance before the aging venue lowers the curtain for the final time.
Preparations are lively and fill the trio with hope, but a string of inexplicable accidents soon raises suspicions. Is something sinister lurking backstage?
An eager audience awaits the show of a lifetime, and the actors are determined to deliver it. They throw themselves into their roles and give it their all, all while mindful of the danger that waits in the wings...

"Proshippers also harrass people" well obviously they're not actually proship then?! and should check their actions...
(not a "no true Scotsman" thing, more like saying "I'm a vegetarian" and then feasting on beef. like. you're not following the principles.)
"being a vegetarian or omnivore is stupid, I just don't eat meat"
"stop calling people vegetarians just because they only eat vegetarian foods!!!"
(this is a proship allegory. Just because you think a label is "liek sooo stoopid" doesn't mean it doesn't describe people)
So, hypothetically, say we gave up and let the fancops twist "proship" to only mean "ships I don't like and therefore are BAD and ILLEGAL", and started using, say, profic more widely
How long until they started twisting that to mean whatever they want too
@b_ingsuu Profic is more generally against censorship and harrasment over fiction, proship is more focused on anti-harrassment over shipping specifically
Generally not a big difference in the end
@melpomeane The definition of proship is being against harrassment over ships, "pro shipping", so, everything.
But whatever make up your own definition or whatever
it’s one thing to not wanna be involved in discourse or not wanting to use labels but—
“i’m not pro or anti im an adult w a job” my guy that’s literally what pROSHIP is bro
@The_GreenFilm "Pro-ship" means that you don't harrass people over what they ship, even if they contain taboo themes. It's fine not to like those ships, if you just leave the people who do like them in peace.
You could say you do not draw "darkship", some use that to describe taboo ships.
