Black people are hurting right now, and if you’re a manager with black people on your team, you should make space for that. It’s the least you could do.
I know that can be uncomfortable or feel awkward, so if you don’t know what to say, a simple note like this could help: 1/2
giving money is less glamorous than working on a project you can add to your portrolio, i know. but just donate the money and work on that side project you havent touched in a year. dont go out of your way to “solve” problems you either dont understand or dont exist.
please, tech people. PLEASE. if you dont have a background working in healthcare/medicine, stop the hackathons and just give money.
the potential to do harm is too high, and designing for medicine is a thing. health communication/tooling is a specialty, not a weekend project.
In the design tool warfare I’d definitely pick the tool that allows you to “kill” your designs with a lovely presentation w/ animated candles and ‘My heart will go on’ playing in the background, while moving your designs to the archive.
Truly learning the concept of “kill your darlings” at the moment. Both my work project and side project are going thru a big rebranding phase on our just recently established design systems. Goodbye my darlings 👋🏼😢
My point? Currently, in design tool world the competition is high, and new releases keep on coming. Each tool has its own benefits & downsides. Some projects work great with Sketch, others Figma. Maybe next month it will be another.
So why should we define a one-tool-fits-all?
So.. I keep on seeing public announcements that people are switching from Sketch to Figma, with no further details as to why. Why are we sharing this? What's the point of telling everyone you are switching? 🙄🤔 (ps. I use them both for different types of projects, so no bias)
@Greenwheels ik kan niet inloggen in de app en bij de mobiele website wel alleen onthoudt hij mijn sessie niet “access require, please login” wanneer ik wil reserveren maar mijn sessie is wel ingelod
@TaelurAlexis Most important: research what the people in your area are most interested in and looking for what they cant find at other meetups. With Ladies that UX we researched every year in order to find out what our crowd wanted, and then found sponsors/speakers that fit. Good luck! 😁
