Following this thread 3 days ago, it appears we are seeing model consolidation toward less potential for storm activity in the Gulf this week, with physics-based models like EPS backing off from their earlier aggression.

The remaining risk is associated with the remnants of Tropical Storm Cristina potentially crossing Central America and regenerating in the Bay of Campeche this weekend, but the probability of tropical storm formation is looking low for now.

One could’ve been avoided by ignoring Iran. The other could’ve been helped by the president not demanding to lower rates each month.
