They’re not just hunting the leaker.

Take-Two got court approval to pull personal info (emails, phone numbers, IPs, device IDs) from ~100k Discord users across multiple servers... including DarkViperAU’s 90k-member server.

Most of those people are complete bystanders who had nothing to do with the leaks.

A multi-billion dollar company turning Discord into a mass surveillance tool the second their IP gets threatened.

And remember… once they have that personal data, there’s no real guarantee they can even protect it.
These big companies get breached regularly. When (not if) it happens again, your info is just sitting there waiting to be leaked.

Greed + power = this exact playbook.

Let's do this one last time:

- all digital. No physical release
- sells base game for $80 and locks regular in game content behind $20 extra. So base game is really $100.
- opened pre-orders months before showing any gameplay.
- first bit of gameplay shown will be locked behind paywall (unless you look at leeks)
- and now apparently the game is unfinished, meaning, they've opened pre-orders for an unfinished game.
- for a bonus Rockstar fully expects you to not care about any of this and just play the game.

SONY is sending out emails updating and reminding people of their PlayStation terms. short version what it says:

- You don't own your digital games, you rent a license
- If a account closed or banned your games are gone, even paid ones
- PlayStation can record your chats, clips, ip address
- Clips you share, they can sell and put ads on and you get no cut
- their liability is capped at £100! This means if Sony screws something up and it costs you money, the most they'll pay you back is £100, no matter how much you actually lost

Devastated that these devs are so incompetent that games like this suffer multiple delays. But mostly? I'm devastated that gamers are such fucking pussies, cowards, and corporate bootlickers they eat this shit up, cry over companies that don't give a fuck about them, just see them as piggy banks and dollar signs, and that they've all been gas lit into thinking this is the direction the hobby should be going.

So let me get this straight:

If I buy a DVD, digitize it for myself, I could potentially get hit with copyright issues.

But Al companies can scrape books, websites, articles, images, code, and other copyrighted material at massive scale to train their models.

Seems like the same rules that apply to regular people don't apply to big corporations.
