Nice to be at Harvard for Boston Bacterial Meeting today. Went for a walk after lunch down to the old Wigglesworth dorm.
Almost exactly 35 years ago, a young me sat on this ledge of the library and pondered my future. Well, future is here attending this amazing conference again
Yes! @manon_janet preprint is out! We show using BALF transfer that an intracelular Acinetobacter clinical strain can seed an infection in a susceptible mouse, suggesting that intracellular bacteria may be reservoir for recurrent infections 1/2

The Bacterial Virulence study section that was scheduled for today was cancelled…today! We just got the communication this morning. This is disheartening…
@blissy63 She lived in very south of Virginia. It was a good 3-4 hour drive for us 😔 also, she was getting older and said she was going to stop breeding. That was a couple years' ago. I could see if she answers email though. DM me to follow up. Here are some pics of 2 year and 4 year olds
Ok. Another puppy pic.
Introducing Guinevere.
Gwenie for short.
She is a 3-4 month old Welsh Terrier. Tired her out. Stretched out the legs completely and buried in comforter.
Nobody seems to care about science, until they get cancer, infections, alzheimer, depression or any other disease. If you support Trump’s decision of stopping science (yes it is happening), next time you get sick just don’t get treatmen, prey to your God for a prompt recovery
@ChrisCillizza Low confidence is not reassuring. Also, a leak from a lab can be accidental. It could have evolved in mice or other animals they had there, and maybe there was disposal problem or an animal bite. Then that person went to the Wuhan market. There are a lot of possibilities here.
