Former WoW foundational developer Jeff Kaplan sat down with @lexfridman to discuss a wide range of topics, particularly his journey in game development and his time at Blizzard.
Jeff went into a bit more detail about his departure from Blizzard while he was working on Overwatch.
He explained that Overwatch eventually became focused on making money as quickly as possible. According to one former CFO, Overwatch needed to hit a specific revenue target (X amount of money). If it did not the company would lay off 1000 people and Jeff would be responsible.

@Shane_Wilson21 Truthfully I think this changes for everyone based on how you look at it objectively. Russ - big for the city with loyalty and all that. KD - absolutely the best player that has come through okc skill wise. Now Shai has lesser amounts of both of those qualitiesβ¦
