If I Have to Know the Law, So Should They”

I’m tired of the double standard.

If I, as a citizen, can’t use ignorance as an excuse for breaking the law, then neither can police officers, school officials, city council members, or government boards.

What happened to Parker Jensen, a student who stood up for the American flag and his constitutional rights, is a disgrace. He followed the law. He spoke out respectfully. And for that, he was suspended, trespassed, and punished by the very people who should have protected him.

Meanwhile, those responsible hide behind phrases like “just following orders” or “school policy.”

Let me be clear:

“Just following orders” is not a defense. It is a copout.

Every official swears an oath to the Constitution. Every officer carries the power to enforce or abuse it. Every school board member and every city council member is entrusted with upholding the law, not retaliating against those who demand it be followed.

If I have to know the law, then so should they.
If I face jail for breaking it, they should face consequences for violating rights under it.

We cannot have a system where citizens are held to the fire and officials are protected by paperwork and titles.

Justice without accountability is not justice at all.

I stand with Parker Jensen and with every American who has been punished for doing the right thing.

Enough is enough.
