what a nightmare.
Went to have the camper picked up, husband went as I’m at the shop. More than an hour goes by and he’s still there- so I called him and he informed me that there was only one solar panel on the roof. When we bought the camper, It had one solar panel(so we thought) and they were supposed to install a second one free of charge as a “we owe“ from our purchasing agreement, so we would have 2 panels.
We upgraded the batteries to lithium batteries on our own, and they were constantly showing dead. Now we know why-
Service and sales were fighting over who’s at fault. At this point he’s been there for HOURS. They said original unit did not come with the solar panel, but was supposed to from the manufacturer when built. At the end, Service and sales both blame the manufacturer lol meanwhile they’re the ones selling the unit and should be making it right and getting reimbursed from the manufacturer.
What’s odd is we’ve used the camper for a few days already and it had a solar panel on top of it so what happened to the original solar panel? Did it not actually have one and we never noticed?
Our service advisor is saying they installed a solar panel and there was nothing up there when they put that other one on there. Is that not a red flag?🚩
Or no one pays attention to the paperwork because the repair order clearly said “add additional solar panel”
Or is someone lying and they actually did not install one at all, and this is the original that came on the camper? The camper left and it still only has one solar panel.🤦♀️
Now onto the water issue with the shower and the water leaks in the bathroom. They assure us it was taken care of, but it wasn’t hooked up to water or power when we got there so we have no way to confirm that it was actually fixed, until we take it out tomorrow and see if the repair was actually done satisfactory.
Meanwhile, there’s a tiny piece of trim that’s already separating from the water damage after only using the shower three times which they said we would have to take it back for. WHY NOT FIX IT THEN?
At this point I’ll just fill it with caulk myself and be done with it.
We still don’t have the $300 They promised us. They told me that the 300 points would be going “to my good Sam account” within 24 to 48 hours in lieu of a refund that we paid to have a piece of trim fixed on the slide in the living room.
Next thing I know I’m getting an email from corporate stating that we have filed a complaint- which I never did. I’m assuming it’s from tagging camping world or maybe Marcus notifying them. Did he file a complaint to corporate on my behalf because I never filed a complaint.
All I’ve done is complain on social media lol but then I get an email asking for me to sign a lease that I will take down all my social media postings and release any liability to camping world. I told them I’m not signing anything until they make it right and the solar panels are good. The water repair is verified and once we take it out tomorrow, nothing else goes wrong. I have used this camper only two nights!
we’ve had to cancel our one trip we had short because of the water issue and now tomorrow will be the second time we’re taking this out. The lady then informed me that she won’t order any parts unless I sign this release which protects them, but doesn’t protect me.
I am exhausted, frustrated and extremely mad that this is how camping world who clearly is in the wrong chooses to handle their customers.
I do have the camper back to my shop in possession. We will see what happens tomorrow, but we still only have one solar panel. We don’t know if the water issue has been corrected or if the other repairs are satisfactory until we use the unit tomorrow. This unit has been in the shop more days and we’ve actually had it in my possession. And for them to insult me by asking us to sign a legal general release liability is fucking wild. I think me saying I’m more then happy to sign anything once the resolution has been completed, and we can verify that everything is satisfactory is more than fair.
The fact that they insult me by saying they will not order something until I sign that might be grounds for some type of lawsuit since I have it in writing on the original sales order?
