Concerned neighbors in Brooklyn are reporting a heartbreaking and deeply disturbing situation involving a dog that has been kept on a balcony for nearly two years.

The dog is not being taken outside for walks at all. According to multiple neighbors, it is kept on the balcony 24/7, regardless of the weather. Neighbors report seeing the dog lying in its own urine next to its feces. They also say the dog is sometimes left without water and is food.

The dog reportedly barks frequently and appears to be in distress.

How is this allowed to continue?

Multiple neighbors say they have already contacted 311, animal control, and the police but say the situation has continued.

One neighbor wrote in a message: “I'm glad someone else noticed that dog has been on that balcony for almost two years surrounded by its feces and urine fed 2-3 times a week but only once a day the owner never walked the dog.

I've taken a lot of pictures even of the owner I've called 311 on numerous occasions and animal control and the police department to no avail! And I even sent an email to the property manager with pictures nothing was done...

One time recently the fender didn't feed or give water for 5 days it rained and the dog was licking the rails of the balcony because it was so thirsty.”

There is power in numbers. Please don’t ignore this.

A Tesla owner and dad was arrested at GUNPOINT in his own driveway and charged with a FELONY for "fleeing" a police officer he never saw.

2 years later, he just BEAT THE WHOLE THING...

...because his Tesla was recording the entire drive. ❤️

His name is Kevin Finley, in Winter Springs, Florida.

He'd just dropped his kids off at school and was driving home when he passed a car sitting in a median and figured it was broken down or about to make a U-turn.

It was an unmarked police car.

An officer went after him. Finley says he never saw a single light and never heard a siren.

The Tesla footage showed the patrol car's emergency lights were visible for only a BRIEF moment... before curves in the road and buildings blocked that unmarked car from view entirely.

So Finley drove home!

He pulled into his garage and then he heard sirens outside. So he did what an innocent man does. He OPENED his garage door to see what was going on.

...and found guns pointed at his face.

His words: "This is, argumentatively, a simple traffic violation. And now I have a gun in my face and I'm arrested in my driveway and my neighbors are watching."

He told them over and over that he never saw them, that he wasn't running from anybody.

The officer can be heard saying:

"I dunno if I'm gonna hit him with the felony side of flee and elude, or I'm going to hit him with all the traffic infractions."

They went with the felony.

Felony fleeing and eluding + criminal reckless driving. In

Finley's words: "These are all very serious charges. Fleeing the police is a felony."

And then this father spent NEARLY TWO YEARS with that hanging over his head. Two years of lawyers. Two years of a felony charge on his record for anyone to see. Two years of wondering if he was going to prison over a traffic stop he never knew was happening.

Then he finally got to play the video.

The judge didn't even send it to a jury.

He acquitted him on the spot.

Fred Kummerow told America in 1957 that the fat in margarine was turning up in the arteries of the dead. The government acted on it in 2015. He was 100.

He was a biochemist at the University of Illinois, and what he had done was simple and slightly grim. He got hold of tissue from people who had died of heart disease and looked at what their arteries were made of. They were full of trans fats, a kind of fat that barely exists in nature and came, in 1957, from one place: the hydrogenated vegetable shortening and margarine the country had just been told to eat in place of butter.

He published it in Science. He was 43.

What followed was a career spent being ignored by experts. The oil industry had friends on every committee. His funding grew thin. In 1968 he talked a panel of the American Heart Association into warning about trans fats, and the warning was pulped and reprinted without it after the shortening makers saw a draft.

Kummerow kept working. He kept his laboratory into his nineties. And he kept eating, quite deliberately and in front of journalists, the diet he had been told would kill him. Eggs cooked in butter. Whole milk. Red meat. He had looked inside the arteries himself and he had not found breakfast in there.

In 2009, aged 94, he filed a formal petition asking the Food and Drug Administration to ban artificial trans fats. The law gave the agency 180 days to answer. Four years later it had not, so in 2013, at 98, he sued the United States government.

Three months after that the FDA announced it agreed with him. The ban was confirmed in 2015. The gap between his paper and the decision was 58 years, which is longer than most of the people who ate the margarine got.

He died in 2017, at 102.

And he spent those last years on a second warning, which has been received exactly as the first one was. The problem, he said, was never the cholesterol in the egg. It is the vegetable oil in the fryer, heated and reheated until it oxidises, and then eaten.

On the record so far, that one is due to be acted upon in about 2070.
