It would be wrong to judge our ancestors by today's standards or values ... argues Nigerian journalist and novelist Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani, one of whose ancestors sold slaves

“When Mark Nowak says that he has had to “fight for the truth” about his son, one reason is that he’d battled to stop the force issuing a statement claiming the incident was racially aggravated, despite there being no evidence.”
@AnnaDeMilanese@TrueFactsStated Bullshit logic. The plant can stay open and sell its goods elsewhere.
The politicians aren’t “concerned for the community”. They’re dirty.
If the police want to rebuild public trust, the next time the brownoids kick off, they will need to show the same ruthlessness they showed this week. Going as far back as the Croydon riots, the plod have opted for a stand-off containment strategy, relying on CCTV and post riot investigation to bag offenders, mindful of the fact that if they actually use their licence to use force, they'll be up to their necks in complaints from race-grifters bleating about police brutality.
The message needs to be clear. Once a Section 34 dispersal order is given, it's open season. To that end, I think we need to emulate the French and have a Gendarmerie for these exact circumstances, where nobody is in any doubt what their powers are and the lengths they will go to. I might even go as far as painting FAFO on their helmets - since everybody knows what that means. If they want to chimp out and torch buses, they have to understand they run a serious risk of getting a baton to the face and a very long stint in prison.
I'm not really moved by the mewling about police brutality when it comes to public order situations. The police do have a licence to use force, and it need not necessarily be reasonable force. In a Section 34 scenario. The state is supposed to maintain its monopoly on force, and anything short of causing life-changing injuries is fair game. If you turn out to a rowdy public protest you know damn well when things are going to escalate. The problem here is that the plod will only ever use such force against white people.
Meanwhile, nobody should be at all surprised by police action in Southampton. The disturbances following Southport lasted four days. When you have a mob of louts and far right agitators itching for a stand-off, the plod are obliged to put it down, especially after being riled up by Tommy Robinson.
As such, the TR brigade haven't covered themselves in glory here. The Unite The Kingdom marches have all been about unity and peaceful protest, going some way to wash some of the stink off Tommy Robinson's reputation. A lot of that will be undone by what we saw. you can pretend they were just "concerned citizens" but less emotionally invested members of the public know yobs when they see them.
The right seems to forget that there is still a large and influential voting bloc who still believe Tommy Robinson is a "dangerous far right thug", and mainly get their news from BBC television. If a street movement is to reach critical mass, it needs the sympathy of those people. Moreover, I don't think it's wise to openly abuse the police footsoldiers. Many are just as likely to think DEI is bullshit. Lobbing missiles at them isn't particularly intelligent. Successful street movements are those where the police down tools and stand aside. Protests should invite police to join them.
On the whole, the Southampton riot achieved nothing. A few activists will end up in jail and as more is revealed about their character and record, the less sympathetic they will be. It makes it so much easier to brand any protest as far right thuggery and opportunistic grifting. Regardless of how pissed off people are, the vast majority of ordinary working class people still frown on violence and thuggery. You can try playing the victim when you get a baton to the face, just as the brownoids do, but you know what you bargained for when you join a mob.
“If the police had not touched him, had let him sit leaning against the wall and called an ambulance, then in my opinion Henry Nowak would have survived (...) He would have been saved in the hospital," stated @DrMagier, a Polish specialist doctor working in a British hospital.
Following this statement, a Coroner has ordered an investigation into whether the police officers’ actions “caused or contributed” to the death of Henry Nowak.

First Irish politician out of the traps to call for Aughinish Alumina to stop sending material to Russia. This is going to snowball over the weekend once other revelations about the plant come out.
Given the scope of corruption in Ireland - aiding and abetting Russia, the enemy of Europe, it's abundantly clear the entire government in Ireland, from top to bottom, is bought and paid for by Russia.
Sanctioned Putin mafia member Deripaska is the literal owner of the refinery.
