° Foreign Minister Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan held a bilateral meeting with the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, H.E. Kaja Kallas on the sidelines of the 25th ASEAN–EU Ministerial Meeting (AEMM) held in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam on 27 April 2026.

° Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Malaysia–EU relations, including through the early ratification of the Malaysia–EU Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA) and continued efforts towards advancing the Malaysia–EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

 ° The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange views on regional and international developments, including the situation in the Middle East and Ukraine, as well as the importance of closer coordination on global issues.

° Both sides further discussed efforts to advance ASEAN–EU relations, including preparations towards the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN–EU Dialogue Relations in 2027, while reaffirming the importance of ASEAN Centrality.
