Did you know South Korea's "Nation's Halmoni" Kim Young-ok is still acting in her late 80s because of a heartbreaking family tragedy? 💔
While many know her as the warm grandmother from countless K-dramas, few know the painful reality behind her smile.
In 2015, her grandson was struck by a drunk driver while waiting for a taxi. The accident left him in a coma, and although he eventually woke up, he was permanently paralyzed from the waist down.
At first, Kim Young-ok's daughter took on the responsibility of caring for him full-time. But the emotional and physical burden became overwhelming, and her own health began to deteriorate.
Fearing she might lose both her daughter and grandson, Kim Young-ok stepped in. She took on the responsibility of helping support the family while sharing caregiving duties.
The medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and lifelong care required for spinal paralysis are enormous. Even in her late 80s, she continues to work to help provide for her family.
As if that wasn't enough, she also suffered another devastating loss—the passing of her husband of more than 60 years.
Yet through all of this, she has remained remarkably strong. Kim Young-ok once shared that hearing her grandson say, "Grandma's food is the best," gives her the strength to keep going.
Every time I see Kim Young-ok on screen, I'll remember that behind that comforting smile is a woman carrying unimaginable pain, responsibility, and resilience.
She's not just Korea's Nation's Halmoni.
She's one of the strongest women in the entire K-drama industry. ❤️

If Indian women deserve "Taliban treatment" because of a few cases, then looking at the news we read daily about at least 20 Indian women being r@p3d & m*****d, Indian men should be locked in cages like animals and completely boycotted by the rest of the world.
