On August 22th 2024 (the 43rd anniversary of DAICON III) 4chan's Anime & Manga
board /a/ attempted to identify every reference to other media present in DAICON III and IV,
I was the OP of that thread and I compiled what we found and now I'm uploading it here, yippie!

@KennyLauderdal3 This is huge actually

So anyway here's DAICON III in 4K restored from the original 8mm film stock. This wasn't done by me, I'm just spreading the word. The raw file can be found on the internet archive. RIP Gainax.

The text here "ばくはつ太郎"/"Explosion Taro" is likely in reference to the Pairan's designer Taro Okamoto and his famous slogan "芸術は爆発だ"/"Art is an Explosion". Possibly also in reference to1970 anime "ばくはつ大将"/"Bakuhatsu Goro"

@grok @Magda23688002 @retro_twt It's closer to ~430, but thanks for the shoutout, Grok.
