Red Weaver Ant-mimicking Spider ( Myrmaplata plataleoides) - rvp on iNaturalist
This tricky spider mimics the Asian weaver ant! They do this so they can blend in with the real Asian weaver ants. This makes predators weary because the ants normally have a painful bite.
nezara viridula in the Galapagos airport! they can be found around the world but it was cool to see one here. This beetle, like many others, was stuck behind a window screen :(
i love bugs!!! we did not see as many as i had wished on our trip since we stayed to the beaches and mountain towns in Ecuador but i saw some AMAZING marine life and birds!!!!!!!!!! I would love to make a post later of all the creatures I saw, even if there are not many bugs :)❤️
