HOA Forces Elderly Couple to Repaint – Church Volunteers Step In
Joanne and Eddie Rodriguez, who married 45 years in Arizona, faced heavy pressure from their HOA.
The association demanded they repaint their faded, peeling house or face action. Eddie suffers from dementia, diabetes, high blood pressure, multiple strokes, and a broken hip.
Joanne is his full-time caregiver and refuses to place him back in a nursing home after past abuse. Living on limited Social Security with high medical bills, they couldn’t afford the paint job.
Reporter Joe connected them with Christ Church of the Valley. On a Saturday, church members showed up, filled cracks, and completely repainted the house at no cost.
Joanne called it “the biggest miracle” of their lives. Eddie, with tears in his eyes, simply said: “Beautiful.”
