Juneteenth has never been a celebration of victory, or an acceptance of the way things are. It's a celebration of progress. It's an affirmation that despite the most painful parts of our history, change is possible––and there is still so much work to do.

Talk less. Listen more. That’s good advice for journalists, life partners, and especially those who live life with privileges and want to understand a hurt that is not only of this moment but is systemic and centuries in the making.
Shout out to @BarackObama... Some of y’all really thought his job was easy, lol. “If I was him, I would’ve”. You would’ve what? A racist ass cop killed another Black man on camera, and America is divided over it, smh. So LIKE I SAID. Shout out to the greatest President ever. 🙏🏾
Listen... One common sentiment amongst most Black people in this fight, is that we need help from others outside of our race. Soooo... If Taylor Swift, or whoever speaks out. Shut the entire fuck up, support them, stop critiquing, and let them cook. ✊🏻✊🏾✊🏿
Don’t act like everyone loved my father. He was assassinated. A 1967 poll reflected that he was one of the most hated men in America. Most hated. Many who quote him now and evoke him to deter justice today would likely hate, and may already hate, the authentic King. #MLK.
