@blocht574 Every school I’ve been in has always made us take everything down so the walls could get cleaned… Not saying how many times they’ve actually been cleaned
I know it’s tempting and easier to take down all the classroom posters and pack everything up before the last day, but when kids walk into my exam today, there’s a comfort level in seeing the room the same as it’s looked all year.
@BenisonMrs My Google Slides for teaching is a blank slide I can write on with my digital pen (& occasionally a slide with graph paper)
That’s the best type of slides because it allows for instant adjustments to any lesson & slows me down to writing speed, just like the kids taking notes.
Today was the final day of pre-Calc class, & I really tried to help them understand the gravity of it.
I made them solve one last question, showed them my work/answer to see if I was right, then had them close their book one last time & pull off the bookcover!
@shirky17 The parapro I was watching it with said her mom made her water the garden every day before school, and would stick her finger in the ground to see if the dirt was dry or moist to the depth of one finger. If dry, do it again and be late for school.
Hey parents, teach your kids how to water plants & trees.
Watched a young person watering new plants at the park next to our school, just misting the leaves and making the wood chips wet. All dry 5 minutes later.
My “book a month” goal for 2026 is still on track…
This month was an early 80’s book with interviews & behind the scenes from the best show on television
Imagine if every high school student spent 100 hours reading this summer instead of 100 hours scrolling…
Imagine how much they’d learn...
Great stories, foundational history, inspiring biographies, science fiction becoming real, and all the vocabulary…
