Giftedness is an immutable, inherited characteristic. The inherent traits of giftedness are especially undeniable in the profoundly gifted who have extraordinary cognitive capacity manifesting across intellectual, emotional, moral, talent-based, and social spheres.
@jlmannisto He’s spot on. He’s aware of the deeper issues, ubiquitous systems that perpetuate the dysfunction and the solutions. Please stay posted for my book release this year. I’m really hoping it’s part of the solution!
The great equalizer in life is uncertainty
Everyone has the same amount - no one can tell the future
Much of success boils down to how you face that uncertainty, day in, day out
I think this is why bravery and courage are the virtues most celebrated in fairy tales
It's interesting to me these aren't virtues we talk about as we age
@justin_garson That’s egregious. The goal of good psychological support for kids is to help acclimate them to the beauty and wisdom inherent in their emotional experience.
to encrypt more significant concepts. There is laughter, conviviality, and shared understanding: reciprocity in evidence —the stuff of a likely friendship.
The waiting room offers hope.

Meet Harry: a profoundly gifted delight of a child
His chronological age peers are unquestionably not his true peers; an indisputable 10-year gap in conceptualization & perceptions is evident in mismatched communication & adverse intellectual, social & emotional miscuing 1(8)
he is generally met with confusion or palatable uneasiness.
He is lonely & feels socially incompetent, desperate to learn and to make a friend: the most common needs of any child.
You would quickly pick him out as an exceptionally gifted child in the clinic's waiting room.
& he shows genuine interest in others.
Context matters here.
The others in the waiting room share similar powerful intellectual capacities with parallel (extraordinary) emotional & moral sensitivities.
They sometimes communicate telegraphically, using truncated messaging,
His language abilities and accessible grasp of any issue at hand are extraordinary.
He demonstrates uncommon insight & an ability to fully connect with his conversational partner when conversing.
His eye contact and nonverbal behaviours are congruent with his verbal messaging
Inevitably, ostracization occurs. This is heartbreaking for Harry.
School days are long for him; fraught with emotional outbursts & inattention. attempts to connect with his age peer. sharing his many interests/understanding of classroom materials, a wicked sense of humour 2(9
@justin_garson Children can learn how to tap into the energy of anxiety and pivot towards productivity, positivity. The key thing is to be able to lean into (eg breathe) heightened responses to stimuli or thoughts without accompanying fear, or unhealthy repression.
Stay tuned. 🐳🫶🏻🐳

Daimon Institute for the Highly Gifted,
Author: “Excuse me, Where do I Park my Whale? The Extraordinary Journey of the Exceptionally and Profoundly Gifted.”
Consciousness and exceptional Intelligence: neuroscience and phenomenology weigh in.
In “The Four Realms of Existence” LeDoux, a neuroscientist at New York University, describes four basic varieties of life on Earth: biological, neurobiological, cognitive and conscious. 1(4)
While verbal reports provide a clear indicator for measurement, it is not the only measure, using Ledoux’s theory to PG consciousness. Some PG babies who demonstrate clear nonverbal indicators of awareness but are slower to utilize their verbal channel of communication.
These more “hands on” learners demonstrate extraordinary awareness of cause & effect or precocious awareness of social communication but they do so through their actions, not through speaking necessarily.
So much more on this later in the book. June 1, 2024 release. 💫📕
