@OnstageBlog Wow!
I don’t understand the entire stage door concept?
I love great acting but apart from well done great show - What do audiences get from it?
The actors want to get home. They have done their job.
Would it not be better to do a Q&A before some shows or special events.
@ComeFromAwayUK The prayer
- it gives me the feels each time.
There is so much representation in that one song. It is such a powerful piece. For me it is what CFA is about.
We may be separate, speak different languages, have different paths.
Yet we are connected as humans.
@CarrieHFletcher@Steph_McKeon I’ve increasingly read stories about performers getting abused, followed home, issues at stage door etc
It’s almost like the human outside the role has been lost. Could some kind of educational campaign could be done?
Highlighting impact of this type of behaviour.
@CarrieHFletcher@Steph_McKeon What the heck!
What posses people to do stuff like this? How do people believe that it’s ok?
Do people not understand that as an actor you are still a person with feelings. You aren’t property.
The industry is hard enough, life is hard enough with this bull crap.
Any disabled actors want to connect or know of anyone in performing that uses a wheelchair who wants to chat? Was a actor then ended up in a chair a year ago and really would appreciate talking to other actor/ performers. I’m aware I have few followers so if peeps could share. X
@PorcelainDel Thank you. I have done that. Although I’m upset that spotlight isn’t actually accessible. Pre- wheelchair I was there regularly doing workshops etc while I appreciate its an old building there are other buildings in london.
@trispretty They do all charge different rate 33% is what some agencies charge. That is at the higher end although normal. Different rates for theatre, film/TV
@ComeFromAwayUK There isn’t just one moment that gives this story justice. It’s raw and relatable. The characters are diverse and there is such a rollercoaster of emotions. A Great example for young people /students to see how ensemble/ multi-role works. I would love to see more shows like this.
I saw @ComeFromAwayUK this evening. It’s ensemble work at it’s finest with abundance of interesting characters.
Playing multiple characters is hard but the acting was so strong I thought it was a different actors! Now that is good acting!
First in person audition as a wheelchair user. What could possibly go wrong…
I pushed the arm rest backward on my powerchair, the joystick got caught into the hubcap.
Next thing I know I’m ploughing at full speed (5mph) into the chairs. Narrowing missing the director.
