The Forum focused on strengthening professional mobility, digital credential verification, regulatory harmonisation, and regional integration across the EAC.

On 6th January 2026, the Engineers Registration Board renewed a 5 year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Egyptian Syndicate of Engineers at their Head office in Cairo - Egypt. The MoU was first signed in July 2018.
The main aim of the MoU is to enable the collaboration and objective exchange of beneficial mandates as well as capacity development and seamless professional engineering experiences across the two countries.
The ERB delegation was led by the Chairman of the Board, Prof. Eng. Henry Alinaitwe Mwanaki and the Commissioner of Construction Industry and Development Regulation, Eng. Tonny Richard Mugenyi.
The Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers (UIPE) was also present led by the President Eng. Lepi Bosco.
The MoU shall run until 2030 with key points of implementation. The milestone event was coupled with visits to key infrastructure facilities in Cairo.
