So close to finishing my recent novel! Four chapters to go and an epilogue. Then it’s back to the beginning for a third draft but it’ll still be a large step towards completion. Always good to finish a project.

A walk on the weekend ten minutes drive from my home; this little enclave of beauty is hidden in a small valley, most people don’t even know it’s there.

I’ve taken to writing every weekend in a local cafe while having a cuppa tea, croissant, butter, and jam. It just might be my version of heaven. #writingcommunity#WritingLife
I woke up last night at around 1am with new chapters writing themselves in my head. A prologue bloomed from nowhere even though I’m mid writing chapter twenty six, with perfect foreshadowing that has now totally changed the impetus of a main story lines.

Decided to go the agent / trad publishing route with my next book - quite excited about it! Half way there, good feedback so far from beta readers. Hoping to be querying by late spring.

@JoelleTamraz I definitely find shorter pieces harder to write, but for me I think I’m influenced by what I’ve read and what I love. I lean towards large Sci Fi novels or epic fantasy, so my stories tend to want to spread their wings and explore!

@P_R_Kaufmann If your only reject was your author platform, you should take that as a recognition that you can write! It means your novel is good to go, just keep querying I reckon 👌

@purpleajah Walk until you can’t walk anymore, then carry on waking. When you feel like you’re beat, turn around and walk all the way back. While doing this keep you’re head up and look around you, rather than internalising. Good luck!
@fliesonmyfruit Oh wow! Yeah, the final book is epic beyond epic. You know how every Robert Jordan book ending is incredible? The final book of a The Wheel of Time is like one long epic ending
Relieved the wot season finale shows Mat becoming close to what he should be, even if they do alter it so he is a hero of the horn, not to mention Uno! Rand killing High Lord Turoth with the power instead of an epic sword fight was a disappointment though.

@KritterXD What do you mean by ‘once again’ in terms of sticking to the authentic material? The series as a series I think most people enjoy, but as a reader of the books it is more like an entire new story that sticks to a few guide posts. Is that not the general view?
Was out of sorts on my novel, not getting back to it. Finally got writing again and spotted a major aspect I didn’t like. Going back and doing the second draft and realised it’s actually really quite good! Now it’s time to plug away until done.

Really happy there is a whole new generation getting to experience the wot world but find it hard to take what they’ve done with Mat. In the book: mischievous, cheeky, funny, unbending honour and courage. In the TV series: coward, traitor, miserable, loser. Why?

@MishaJordAuthor I had the same thing a few years ago - thought Grimm was a great idea and I they pulled it off really well. I confess I never finished to though...didn’t like where they were going with it. That said, don’t tell me the ending!
Woke up last night at 2:30am and couldn’t get back to sleep. Got up and did a bit of work, then wrote just under 1,000 words. Managed to get back to sleep listening to The Wheel of Time Book 2, The Great Hunt! My fifth time through...
