I may not get a chance to play every day of the beta, but this is the feeling I get every time I log on. #wowforever#worldofwarcraft credit. roboftherealm on #tiktok
Relaxing feeling to sit around campfire for 1min to get buff and people start to talk about how the class feels and what they're thinking of the beta. Hot take but I have a feeling these cozy fires won't last forever. #wowforever#worldofwarcraft
In all this useless bickering on Forever the only individuals I feel sorry for are the Devs for @Warcraft. Talk about pressure. They got shit coming in form all angles.
Classic players telling them not to listen to Retail players
Retail players saying not to listen to Classic players
New players giving them feedback and wondering wtf is going on with the Classic/Retail Players
Classic+ crowd telling them not to listen to Era/Retail players
Streamers giving feedback so their content can prosper (shouldn't be a thing but in a shareholder/Metrics world it is)
List goes on and on. Thankfully once launch happens. We can tune out all the noise and just play #FOREVER
With the Return of to me one of my favorite games growing up to its roots in a diffrent time line @Warcraft#forever coming out Nov. 4th. I am coming out of hibernation from stream. Under a new name of https://t.co/TkIPsVJ8PG . I look forward to new friend watching my journey
@soulreaper0lu@BellularGaming I don't think you completely understood what the post was saying. Unless the person who gets the drop. Share a screenshot of the item online people won't know that item exists. You cannot data mine it. You have to own it yourself. Items will be obscured.
@RyzenRyzen68128@Warcraft I very much doubt that they would do that. Since we're trying to give a proper classic plus experience. Meaning as little modern day stuff as possible. We have pvp we can do, and if you want to do world pvp you join a world pvp server
@caindris@Warcraft As holly put it on the stage, putting war back in warcraft. The story takes place after warcraft, three in the beginning of world of warcraft. So that would not be in the spirit of what the game is about after all.
@rage_claw It's pretty simple, it's an alternative storyline where we don't go through the dark portal, and we continue exploring the world and them fleshing out what content was never finished back in the day.
@contradikter@Warcraft This is literally in essence what world of warcraft was back then. There is still conflict between the alliance and the hoard. They're not buddy, buddy like they are in retail. But it makes the world the main focus.
@Warcraft I would love it to see the talent calculator for all the classes with t. Revamp, so I can start planning what class I wanna play. Also, you guys are evil for the collector's edition. My credit card opened up on its own demonically, typed in...
@walmart#spark new driver out of Raynham MA and the people using auto clickers and 3rd party apps is very bad around here please fix this. Hard to want to support this app if people bot.
🎙️ VOICES OF VANA’DIEL — ONE WEEK OF TREASURES OF AHT URHGAN
It has officially been one week since the gates to the Near East opened on HorizonXI.
Since launch, we've watched adventurers flood into Whitegate, unlock new jobs, hunt spells, tackle Assaults, push through missions, discover new quests, earn merits—and occasionally die together in spectacular fashion.
But now that the initial launch rush has settled a little, I wanted to hear directly from the players.
So today I grabbed five adventurers around Whitegate and asked each of them the same six questions about their first week with Treasures of Aht Urhgan.
No carefully selected answers. No script. Just five players and their experiences after one week.
Meet Tomasura, Cawgg, Oziris, Rugball, and Nyru.
🩷 TOMASURA — EXPERIENCING TOAU FOR THE FIRST TIME
Tomasura has been around Horizon since Day 1, although she's taken some longer breaks along the way.
For her, this launch carries a little extra meaning.
What have you spent the first week doing?
“Mainly just getting the mainstory done up to ToAU18, and ofc leveling the Corsair.”
And COR has definitely clicked.
“Enjoying the versatility of COR, the RNG/BRD kind of playstyle is appealing.”
But when I asked what she had been most excited about before launch, her answer wasn't a particular item, job, or battlefield.
“For me it was playing ToAU. I never got to play it back when I was a kid.”
That makes Horizon's version of the expansion her chance to finally experience something she missed during the original era.
Favorite experience so far?
“I think doing Assaults with friends that I met on Horizon has been the most entertaining so far.”
And apparently she's been enjoying herself quite a bit.
When we spoke, Tomasura was already COR 71 and closing in on 72.
Her verdict:
“I haven't had any issues, it's been fun so far.”
“It's been a blast!”
🔵 CAWGG — BLUE MAGE, ASSAULTS & THE BOIS
Cawgg was still playing before ToAU, although most of his recent activity had been HAAP parties.
That changed quickly once the expansion arrived.
What have you spent most of your first week doing?
“Missions and farming spells and ISNMs.”
Which new job has grabbed you?
“BLU is cool, PUP surprised me with its complexity.”
What were you most excited about before launch?
Assaults—and for Cawgg, they've delivered.
“There are a lot of reasons to do a lot of the content we have available now.”
Then I asked about his favorite experience from the first week.
His answer might perfectly summarize FFXI with friends:
“Getting drunk with the bois and killing imps for people trying to get Azouph Isle staging point.”
😂
How are you feeling after the first week?
“I'm very excited to try out what we have ingame now, and I'm very excited for what's to come.”
👜 OZIRIS — THE RETURNING ADVENTURER
Oziris had taken a break from Horizon and returned shortly before the expansion arrived.
Before ToAU, were you active, on a break, or new?
“I had taken a break and came back shortly before ToAU release. :)”
What have you spent most of your first week doing?
“Missions, Quests, ISNMs, Imperial Standing / Merits.”
Which of the three new jobs are you enjoying most? Anything surprise you?
Oziris hasn't actually unlocked any of the three yet.
“I was surprised they changed Corsair's Roll to 75 only.”
He also added that he was happy to see PUP added to some gear.
What were you most excited about going into launch? Did it live up to your expectations?
“I was most excited about Group 2 merits and access to the new content like Assaults.”
His feelings on the new merits were a little more mixed.
“Group 2 merits were a mixed bag. They added some neat stuff, but failed on some others pretty badly.”
He specifically mentioned disappointment with RDM Group 2 merits and BLM Ancient Magic II, adding:
“WHM kinda got shafted.”
Despite those criticisms, his overall impression of the expansion was positive.
How do you feel about ToAU overall after one week?
“Overall great!”
And when it came to the rollout itself:
“It's been a smooth rollout. Kudos to the devs! <3”
🟢 RUGBALL — BACK FOR THE NEAR EAST
Rugball had been on a break before ToAU and returned for the expansion.
His first week has been spent unlocking Staging Points, working on Corsair, and diving into the new content.
Which of the new jobs are you enjoying?
COR has been his main focus, while PUP has been the surprise.
What were you looking forward to most?
“Nice zone for merits in Aht Urhgan.”
And Rugball hasn't exactly been taking his time with the story—he has already finished all of the currently available missions.
When we caught up, his next target was farming Excavation Duty for a Chivalrous Chain.
But his overall feeling about the first week was simple:
“I think it's a total win for developers.”
🔷 NYRU — BACK IN WHITEGATE
Nyru was mostly active leading into ToAU, but she made an interesting decision before launch.
“I was active mostly, took about a 2 week break beforehand to not burnout before ToAU.”
That apparently worked, because her first week has been busy.
What have you spent most of your time doing?
“Levelling with a couple of friends to get their COR and BLU to 75, just now working on missions and other content.”
Nyru hasn't spent much time personally playing the three new jobs yet, but watching them has already left an impression.
“Seeing all 3, Blue seems the most surprising to me in it's versatility.”
What were you most excited about going into launch?
This might be my favorite answer of the interviews:
“I just really wanted to be back in Whitegate, the nostalgia of it all hit me as soon as the music started.”
❤️
Her favorite moment also came from simply exploring what Horizon's version of ToAU has to offer.
“I found a quest for Sirvente earlier today so that got me real excited.”
And that discovery immediately led to another thought:
“Makes me wonder what other quests are out there to be found.”
After one week?
“Been pretty solid, prob could have a few more missions to do now that I'm caught up but over all pretty pleased with the experience.”
🌅 ONE WEEK IN THE NEAR EAST
Five players. Five different experiences.
Some were active before launch. Some came back specifically for ToAU. One is finally experiencing an expansion she missed as a kid.
Some immediately dove into COR and BLU. Others haven't even unlocked the new jobs yet.
There were criticisms. There were surprises. There were discoveries.
But one thing kept appearing throughout these conversations:
People are doing things together.
Assaults with friends.
Helping people unlock Staging Points.
Leveling friends' new jobs.
Hunting spells.
Exploring Whitegate and wondering what else is still waiting to be discovered.
And perhaps that's the best snapshot of the first week of Treasures of Aht Urhgan on HorizonXI.
The gates have only been open for seven days—and players are already making new memories in the Near East.
A huge thank you to Tomasura, Cawgg, Oziris, Rugball, and Nyru for stopping what they were doing and giving me a few minutes of their time today.
Here's to the next week. 🍻

@HorizonFFXI The fourth private server that I will have made it to the best expansion yet again. Looking forward to seeing the changes that are made to the classes of that expansion. And the great effort that the devs have put into this expansion over the last few years.
