This is an article that I never wanted to write. We have lost Mike Lange. He has passed away at age 76. RIP to a true legend. Here’s the article: https://t.co/4h6mc60AtA
The Penguins acquired the Rangers’ 2025 first-round pick (conditional), forward Danton Heinen, defenseman Vincent Desharnais, and 2024 third-round pick Melvin Fernstrom from the Canucks for defenseman Marcus Pettersson and forward Drew O’Connor.

Up to this point, this account has only posted Norm's SNL jokes from Weekend Update. But today, I'm going to break the pattern in honor of one of Norm's best friends, the late, great Bob Uecker. So here's the famous moment where Norm tells his Bob Uecker story on The Late Show with David Letterman.
You've probably already seen this clip before, but I thought it would be fun to write it out in picture form for you.
Enjoy!

@landon_tengwall Sincerely, thank you for all the great content and information. Made a super fun year even better.
Glad you found something you like and are really good at.
Sidney Crosby had a great line when talking about how the chances haven't been falling for him as of late: "Usually when I’m asked about it, is usually when it starts to change. So, thank you [grins]. What took you so long?!" 😂
@landon_tengwall Really want to be clear that I'm not bashing him in any way for the decision. Just the reality of how things are with the current rules.
@landon_tengwall It can be both.
It can be 100% the right thing for him, and the fault of the system, AND he is 100% abandoning PSU for the playoffs.
I hold no ill will, and wish him nothing but the best. But the team's chances of winning the CFP are worse now than they were before his decision

Sidney Crosby will go down as the Pittsburgh athlete with the longest consequential playing surface impact. From statistics, setting ice/off ice example, productive durability, his deferring to Malkin to suppress egos, and sacrifice of personal wealth, he has no peer. He has surpassed Honus Wagner, Clemente, Stargell, and any Steeler (who, because of the sport are more short term comets and the 70s Steelers were LOADED. A fake punt and injuries prevented 6 Super Bowls) as a long term generation force. Football is still the strongest cultural force in Pittsburgh and so it is weighted in its favor for mass appeal, but as a singular model, Crosby stands alone. Which is something considering Mario set an unsurpassable statistical mountain (he played in the best era to score in NHL history with no salary cap, and 66 is probably the most physically talented offensive force) and twice saved the franchise from relocation. Perhaps, they are best linked as their careers were, but 87 has his own, unique lane that's fascinating in the internet/social media era.
