Mother. Wife and daughter of immigrants. Proud to lead @Weberrenew. Harm reduction saves lives. Travelled the world back to #RI. #BLM. She/her. Tweets my own.
i wrote about the upcoming safe consumption site in Rhode Island, the first state-regulated one in the nation, how it was made and what it means for the fight for harm reduction and spoke to the people behind it at @WeberRenew for @TheBodyDotCom https://t.co/R1nJoQSvjA
@mikelikeschange @WeberRenew Thank you for your kind words, @mikelikeschange , and your commitment to making harm reduction tools and information accessible in RI!
Seeing my own beautiful boys in Ralph Yarl’s face. But resisting the urge to retweet the “he was an honor student” messages. All children, all humans, deserve to live, whether they are honor students, drop out of school, use drugs - let’s not fall into that same “deserving” trap.
Ralph Paul Yarl was picking up his two siblings. He went to the wrong house in Kansas City, Missouri. The White man who opened the door did not see a lost 16-year-old boy. He saw a threat. Shot Ralph, twice. Once in the head to kill him. Somehow Ralph survived. 1/

Our diverse peer workforce is our greatest strength! Being able to provide supports like mental health treatment and retirement benefits to our tireless staff, whose work and experience is often undervalued by the outside world, is one of the things I am most passionate about.
Proud to be in such great company and to receive this funding that will help provide additional mental health support, access to retirement accounts, and additional training for our peer-led team. Thank you,@RIFoundation. 💜

When you see the previous year of your life in written/photo form and you: Cry/beam/rage/need a nap/are reminded of how lucky you are to work with such extraordinary humans...

Love love love seeing people leave these events with the weight of the world off their shoulders. And love our generous community partners who give their time and talent!
A huge shout-out to Ben Perez of Cardona & Perez law (seen here with Tarah from team PWR) for volunteering time to co-host an expungement clinic at out PVD drop-in center yesterday. They met with nearly 40 individuals. We're so thankful for amazing partners like this.💜
“We would have opened yesterday” because every day we delay, someone dies of a preventable overdose - 435 Rhode Islanders in 2021, with numbers rising in 2022. #EndOverdose#HarmReductionSavesLives
18 years ago I was given the Valentine’s Day gift on the left, and have been so grateful to be his mother (and the beanpole on the right!) ever since. 💘 Being a parent, time flies and crawls all at once, but when you look up you are a parent to an adult 😳
If we don’t slow down and take care of ourselves and each other, we can never take care of our community. Grateful for these times we take a breath and fill our cups. 💜
We took time last Friday to do team building & mental health support work. In #harmreduction, it's critical for us to learn how best to serve our clients by also supporting ourselves and working together. Thanks to those who helped us Fri.! Bonus: rocking our new PWR hoodies.💜
