I’ve been out of high school golf for 6 years since moving to Malcolm. When I helped coach in Oakland, our entire team attended rules seminars put on by NGA annually. We took USGA rules quizzes. We had local rules sheets at every tournament we hosted, and I’ve used them for years helping host tournaments in Schuyler (home town course).

I’ve got buddies in coaching and we all taught (teach) protecting the field and knowing the rules. Can’t help what others do and don’t do unfortunately.

When I was in Oakland, our course professional was in on all rulings at our events. Our superintendent too. Both individuals who were well versed in the rules. Some small courses don’t even have a course professional and the superintendent might be a local, who doesn’t know the rules well. I don’t know what you’re hoping schools would do?

@JP_GolfShop @Husky_Golf Jon, the NSAA doesn’t make the rules. The members schools do. The NSAA simply enforces the rules the member schools put into place. Of course with golf we have USGA the Rules of Golf which aren’t changed, and the NGA helps with rulings at state tournaments.
