@airtransat@skytrax_uk My travel agent and I have been calling in for over a month trying to resolve an issue and no luck. Sent emails and the reply was “to call in”. Something needs to change! Horrible service 👎🏻
@ONTSpecialNeeds@SpecialEdPirate Sorry to hear that! I am fortunate to work with schools who have been able to offer support (EA, SPST) in the FI setting. Families should also use community supports to help advocate at school when needs aren’t met. My role is funded across the province for such support.
@SpecialEdPirate@ONTSpecialNeeds Sorry, then I misunderstood what you meant by “this is a bigger issue”. It sounded to me like you don’t support French Immersion because not all children succeed in it. My point was that some kids with special needs do succeed & some kids don’t (regardless of cognitive skills).
@SpecialEdPirate@ONTSpecialNeeds If parents wanted to avoid special ed & behaviours they could pay for private school. I see spec Ed kids in French Immersion & see the fantastic opportunities for those kids too. Like anything else one shoe doesn’t fit all, so to imply that is discrimination is simply wrong.
@SpecialEdPirate@ONTSpecialNeeds I have never heard a parent say it “gets you a better education”, but what I do hear is that learning a second language is beneficial for brain development especially in younger children. It is also our country’s official second language and can provide more career opportunities.
@amandamcmartin@fordnation Anyone 17 and under can still enter the arena to “play” sports without proof of vaccination (at least in our public health unit) so maybe double check this in your area. That would be devastating if she couldn’t continue with hockey.
@fairman214@ONTSpecialNeeds Hey, I see that you live in Kingston (or near) and that you have ASD. Reach out to Community Living Kingston and ask for a Family Support Worker. They can work with you to make sure you are connected to all available supports and help you advocate for the things you need.
@mybigyellowbus It would be great to see bus monitors on every bus, so bus driver’s can focus on driving safely and students can still be provided needed supports. One teacher in a classroom of 30 ish students, but no monitors on a bus of sometimes upwards of 60 doesn’t add up...
@elizabethszilva @fordnation Postponed, not cancelled and other provinces have been having their Spring Breaks in April for years. Regardless of Covid, it would be nice to have it in April yearly going forward (with warmer weather usually).
