@BADGERxxxFACE Yes but not 50% of the total cap hit, just of the cap hit that was on their books. It works out to another 25% of the total contract cap hit.
Like the Henrique 3 team trade: Ducks retain 50% cap, Bolts retain 25%, Oilers get Henrique at 25% total cap hit.
The debate becomes “he’s a really good player, but is he worth $6M AAV? We only have so much cap space to go around.” This could have been avoided with a luxury tax. Instead, the system makes players the villains for taking up X% of a teams cap space. Horrible business model. 2/2
Back in 2004, Bob Goodenow said a hard salary cap would dominate fan and media discussions, become detrimental to growing the game we love. He was right. Nowadays, the fan bases around the NHL are all wringing their hands over a players AAV. 1/2
@SuzieCanuck Really? I can't believe we did it up here before any of those states too. You would think we would be the holdouts up here because sunrise before 11am was kinda nice...
Hey BC, could you stop doing daylight savings time already?
It's goofy.
Also, how are you behind the Yukon on this? Seriously.
We're the ones who barely get sun in the winter and we still changed it.
And yes, this is 100% because i'm sick of 8pm start times for Canucks games.

Every rumor that involves a hockey players wife or mother cheating never questions whether or not SHE would do it. It's always about how we totally believe the player would do something like that. Intentionally or not it implies believing the woman would have cheated.
I call BS.
