@mikehtrujillo It’s like you saw my comment the other day about this Twitter feed being Fox News for middle-age corporate Democrats and saw that as a challenge
Yesterday, we had the opportunity to perform the United States National Anthem for the #NFL game between the #ChicagoBears and the #Eagles, and it was incredible to do so with love and respect for a great nation.
However, a huge wave of racist criticism has emerged.
Let's check in on @JoeLinton's two HLA lawsuits against the city.
Together, they attack a litany of excuses made by the city to not implement HLA:
1. Projects w/Metro
2. Slurry seal
3. Large Asphalt Repair
4. Restriping w/o making other improvements
5. Community plan updates
I'm working on a podcast on things that transit agencies have to do (preventive maintenance, planning, prevention, etc...) for extraordinary events from Mega-Events to Climate Change.
Huge thanks to the folks at @Metrolink who gave me a tour today to help me prep and refine!
@mikegatto A lot of it depends on what strings are attached. Streetsblog LA used to get about 10% of its budget from Metro ads. When Metro switched at agencies and didn’t use hyper local Press much anymore outside of Google ads it didn’t change our coverage of Metro one bit.
NEW: I reached out repeatedly last week to Median Strategies, asking to speak with their head of polling.
After reaching out repeatedly, they told me they were discontinuing their polling operation, then they admitted their poll was fake.

Given Councilmember @nithyavraman’s recent removal from her position as Chair of the Housing Committee, I want to share my own experience working with her on housing & homelessness.
In late 2020, during the most challenging moment of the pandemic, Nithya reached out… (1/7)
Another failure of @MayorOfLA and @TraciParkforLA:
The On The Beach Festival at Dockweiler Beach that was scheduled to host acts such as John Legend, Janelle Monae, Raphael Saadiq, Charlie Wilson, and Parliament-Funkadelic with George Clinton had to be cancelled
because the City couldn't figure out a way to permit the event due to "significant... last minute... municipal costs."
this also took down the first annual LA Jazz Festival, which it was tied to.
It's curious to see what events, demographics, and groups get a rubber stamp hear in LA under our current "leaders" and which don't.
