I usually really appreciate your content, but as someone that is local to Southern California I can state unequivocally that your take on this either intentionally misrepresents the situation or that you are naïve... in which case I will share with you why that vote wasn't bad. The police departments use those as BS excuses to pull people over on fishing expeditions or just to harass dark colored people. Poor white people too. It's a shameful practice, but one they have been doing for years. The practice was called pretextual stops.
