[Adewumi Adeyemi IREKANDU @adewumiadeyemii]

The Inspector General of Police is someone I have respected and admired for years. From his days in Lagos to his appointment as IGP, some of us genuinely believed his emergence would bring a new dimension to policing in Nigeria.

That is why what we are witnessing today is particularly disappointing.

Whether or not these arrests are personally ordered by the IGP, he is the head of the Nigeria Police Force and cannot be detached from what is being done by officers under his command.

The arrest of Hon. Mayowa Adejoorin, Osun State Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, particularly at this sensitive political period, raises serious questions.

What is policing turning into? A branch of political parties?

We admired the IGP because we expected better. We still expect better.

Whatever happens, Osun people are resolute. They will not be intimidated.

The democratic choice of the people on August 15 cannot be changed through arrests or intimidation.

Let the people decide. The people have decided.

[Adewumi Adeyemi IREKANDU @adewumiadeyemii]

ENOUGH OF THE INTIMIDATION IN OBOKUN

The arrest of the Osun State Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, Hon. Mayowa Adejoorin, who is also one of the leaders of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s campaign in Obokun Local Government, is deeply disturbing and an embarrassment to democratic policing.

This comes barely days after the arrest of Chief Oluwasesan Orija (Mewo) and reports of attempts to arrest other opposition members in Obokun State Constituency.

At what point does policing become intimidation?

If Hon. Adejoorin has committed any offence, the public deserves to know. He should be informed of the allegation against him and accorded all the rights guaranteed to him by law. But the continued arrest of political figures in Obokun at this critical period leading to the August 15 election is deeply disturbing and cannot simply be ignored.

I once again call on the Inspector General of Police to ensure that the Nigeria Police Force is not used, or perceived to be used, as an instrument of political intimidation. The Police must remain professional, impartial and guided by the rule of law.

Elections are won at the ballot box, not through arrests, harassment or intimidation.

We want peace in Obokun. We want peace in Osun State. Every institution of state has a responsibility to protect that peace.

With this latest development, the continued intimidation is making a statewide peaceful protest increasingly inevitable. This must stop.

Enough is enough.

Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi Irekandu,
Member, Osun State House of Assembly,
Representing Obokun State Constituency.

@nathanielblow Accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour today! Tomorrow might be too late!✨

Confess; Lord Jesus, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour today, forgive my iniquities, bring me back to Yourself and save my life from eternal damnation🙏🏾.

Hello !
You might just need this.
Please Read.

When you work with a leader or someone that stretches you beyond your comfort zone, and truly wants you to be a better version of yourself,
You have no idea what God is doing for you.
My late mentor, Pastor Eskor Mfon was never really
a professional musician per se, but was a great worshipper and one that had an ear for good music.

He would come into our choir room after we had spent hours rehearsing. He’d sit, cross His legs, rest his jaws on his palm, close his eyes and listen to what we had done. After a while, he’d shake his head, smile and heave an interesting sigh “aaaaahhhh !”, and then say to us “okay okay well done o, but we can’t give God this kind of worship tomorrow, let’s start again…” And believe me, another 2-3 hours of work…. He’d tell us, “you know we can’t take people to a place we have not been to ourselves…”
He would share scriptures, explain what ministry was all about, then sit with us as we slugged it out.

Anyway, those days would later become the foundation of my music ministry today.

Hmmm, There were days I thought “this stress is just too much” just to lead worship ??? But what did I know ? Poor boy ! My eyes opened one day, and I caught it.

The inheritance I got from him was not money and material things, even though he took good care of us. But the values, principles, work ethic, mind shift, wisdom, spiritual intelligence and understanding, emphasis on prayer, word, purity, integrity, character, excellence etc.

Today I honour him everywhere I go, because in hindsight, He was God sent - To a young man who only had talent, but with very little or no sense of direction.

So, to anyone out there, connecting with this post and perhaps in a similar place, I say receive GRACE to maximize the moment. Learn and glean all you can now, never despise the process, instead appreciate and honour it. For not everyone is privileged to have another man or woman who leave their own thing to sit on your matter, just to make sure you excel in life. It is a blessing !

And in case it appears to be taking longer than it should, may be, just maybe. you are cut out for the BIG TIME. And in no distant future we would be reading your own inspiring story.

But Please note ! Only make sure the person or leader is one that meets the criteria above - I.e, one who truly desires to see a better version of you and wants you to fulfill your prophetic destiny. And Not just one who seeks to hijack your life, control it and put in under lock and key.
Blessings
🙂
