Thank you @NYCMayor, @RitchieTorres, @NYCHousing, @nypl, @althea4theBX, @FlumeInternet for bringing opportunity, information, and education to traditionally marginalized communities. One’s zip code should never dictate access to information. This initiative helps guarantee that.
Equaling the playing field.
At our St John’s II supportive housing residence in the Bronx, @NYCMayor and @RitchieTorres announced a $2 million expansion to bring free broadband Internet access to over 2,000 low-income residents. We were delighted to host this press conference
Over 20% of Bronx households lack broadband home access.
Thx to @nycmayor, @ritchietorres, @nychousing, @nypl, 2,200 affordable housing apts will have high-speed Internet.

"This is an affront to families, communities, and #nonprofits." Keith Little of @SCOfamily calls out the City's cuts to #nonprofit indirect funding at @BenKallos's hearing on the topic.
Thank you Councilmember Kallos, Chair of the Contracts Committee; Councilmember Rosenthal, and the other members of the Contracts Committee for hosting a very important hearing on the impact of reduced indirect payment on the nonprofit community.
Thank you to the executives testifying in today's hearing.
They have made it clear that indirect cost cuts present an existential threat to how non-profits operate in #NYC.
