Just catching up with Jesse Marsch's MD-1 presser:
"This tournament has not been professional for me...there's too many gaps in the treatment and the overall experience from a day-to-day perspective."
Says Canada were treated as "second class citizens"

“Switching from a liberal government to a conservative government will not solve any of these issues. In fact it will make all of them worse a lot worse. If you don’t believe me go look what’s happening in the UK. "Perfection is impossible.
In the 1,526 singles matches I played in my career, I won almost 80% of those matches.
But what percentage of points did I win?
54%
In other words, even top ranked tennis players win barely more than half the points they play.
When you lose ever second point on average, you learn not to dwell on every shot.
You teach yourself to think:
'Okay, I double faulted...it's only a point.'
'Okay, I came to the net and I got passed again...it's only a point.'
Even a great shot, an overhead backhand smash that ends up on ESPN's top 10 playlist – that too is just a point.
Here's why I'm telling you this.
When you're playing a point, it has to be the most important thing in the world. And it is.
But when it's behind you, it's behind you.
This mindset is crucial – because it frees you to fully commit to the next point with intensity, clarity, and focus."

Sad fact: a senior in your life is 💯 being gouged by a cable/phone provider. Call them today. Ask them to go thru their bill with you. Home phone doesn’t cost $120 a month. Basic cable isn’t $200. The industry is taking full advantage of their longest serving customers.
I met Bob Cole on May 13, 2014.
Game 7, Rangers-Penguins.
I introduced myself after the skate, said how often I’d watched him on CBC from Michigan. I was starstruck, to be honest, and asked the most reflexive question that came to mind.
“What do you think will happen tonight?”
He smiled. I think he could tell I was nervous.
“Well,” he intoned, “that’s what we’re here to find out.”
In that simple sentence was the essence of his greatness: Bob wasn’t concerned with what could or should happen. His calls were completely in the moment — timing impeccable, voice rising with the action. He gave us the gift of experiencing the scenes as he did. Every game is a present, to be unwrapped with joy. The broadcast should be spontaneous, too. I cherish that wisdom, because it is so pure, and because of the man who shared it.
Lightning coach Jon Cooper shares some poignant words as he reflects on the death of legendary hockey announcer Bob Cole and the impact Cole had on Cooper's love for hockey.
Tell me this isn’t a set play/deliberate faceoff loss by Crosby & Rust. Crosby gets himself kicked out, Rust deliberately loses draw to Larkin, Crosby jumps to where the puck is and gets possession.
