@ESPNFC So what if Europeans are hypocritical…does it mean they’re wrong? Should it excuse Qatars human rights record? Also, Europeans made awful mistakes, and implemented universal human rights laws in response. So yes, they are in a position to give moral lessons.
@BDonnellyarch @PoetExperiment@SkySportsNews@GNev2 Well, 2 months ago the organisers said it would be sold, hence people expected it. What else will they backtrack on? Also, alcohol is still for sale in hospitality…so it’s culturally acceptable at the right price.
@footballdaily He’s a class player, and yes there’s an argument for taking him….but to say he’s the difference between winning a WC or not is daft. TAA has won a champions league, RJ isn’t that far ahead of him that it gives us no chance.
@ESPNFC I’ve got absolutely no idea how good Suarez still is, or Cavani. If they’re still playing well, they’ll cause problems. Tough group tho, might struggle to get out of it.
@MayorofLondon You helped exacerbate! I understand the thinking behind more cycle lanes, but it seems to have led to slower moving traffing pumping more fumes into the air. Not enough people choose to cycle to have a meaningful impact on traffic. This was always going to happen.
@elonmusk I bet it’s a massive pain in the arse to run. An expensive pain in the arse. A $44 billion dollar chat room. Keep the brave face on though, and take comfort in that green sign thing.
@MayorofLondon At least you’ve funded a toolkit to tell 14 year old lads that they’re all sexists and how not to be tho. Really getting to the heart of London’s big issues.
@mark_tp28@GNev2 At least wait until he’s commentated on a game before judging? Maybe he will mention it often…Maybe his fee will be contributed to human rights charities. Having a dig about things that are yet to happen makes no sense.
@thenewsmovement@SadiqKhan@MayorofLondon So, of the many problems London has (housing, cost of living, travel, crime) the mayor prioritises going in to schools to tell young lads they’re all sexists and should behave how he tells them to, coz he did a toolkit?! The ego on this guy.
@Hannibal_Lcter@ESPNFC Born & raised in France, trained by FFF. What did Cameroon contribute to his development? Why should they benefit? Also, who are you to tell him or any player what nationality he is? His choice alone. If he says he’s french, thats the end of it.
@ManUtdMEN No idea if this is true, but to go out on a limb…I’d say his performances cost him his place, not being late for a meeting one time. Doubt Kane gets dropped if he’s late. Imo, if sancho was playing well, scoring/assisting, he’d be in the squad, whatever his timekeeping.
@maowtf_@elonmusk Surely this is an attempt at a joke, nobody can be this bad at maths 😂. If not a joke….I would strongly advise against pursuing a career in accountancy pal, I’m sure you have other strengths.
@BeetsEstrella @RhonddaBryant@_DHOTYA a double entry for the “<enter kids age> + <surprisingly wise comment that happens to align with adult tweeters politics>” category
@mrdanwalker Agree, maybe too soon, but, how long is long enough? He made a horrendous error, and he lost his job for it. Probably his career. Is that not enough punishment? Loads of people broke Covid rules. How many lost their livelihood? A tiny % I’d wager.
@paddypower Deserved as well, been great recently…but Grealish has won a PL title, will probably win another and is going to the World Cup. I reckon he’s probably fine with Almiron playing well for the first time in 5 years 🤷♂️
@TheEconomist Agree. If you were to canvas opinion in deprived neighbourhoods most residents would flag the lack of art in shop windows as the main issue. Not crime, inequality or unemployment.
@TheE_Butler@RMcElhenney@VancityReynolds@Wrexham_AFC Many European teams do, mainly “big” clubs, as it’s a great way to open the “brand” to more markets & generate cash. The travel can tire players tho. Big clubs have the squads to handle it, Wrexham would need to think hard to find the right balance.
@Rob7Burrow It’s a good question. Lack of exposure at a young age must contribute…e.g. in my school (north east) we only ever got taught football. One or two rugby/cricket based lessons the whole time I was there.
