How to feel good about connecting with others? Three steps:
1. Every day for one week, send one email or Direct Message on social media to someone.
2. That message should express gratitude for who that person is, and what they create.
3. That’s it.
If you want to reach your ideal readers, I encourage you to look at everything you share with fresh eyes. This helps you challenge assumptions that you have, which may be holding you back from reaching the people who will truly love your work.
So many writers and creators feel behind, and feel bad about what they don’t achieve. Today I want to encourage you to consider this: how do you want to feel at the end of the week? Don’t identify your goals as numbers you want to achieve, but rather, as feelings you want to have
Sharing what you create is not "advertising." It is meant to create moments that connect your creative intention to what will inspire someone. The goal is to create meaningful moments in that process. Consider: how can you create one of those moments today?

How you create and share doesn’t need to be big and dramatic. Consider one small habit of creating or connecting that can have a powerful impact in sharing your creative vision.
Too often writers avoid talking about, apologize for, and dismiss their own work. They miss opportunities to connect what they create in a way that truly resonates with the person they are speaking with. What is one tiny way you can share about your creative work today?

When it comes to finding time to fit writing and creating into my life, I don't believe in balance. As you consider the experiences you want to create in your life around your creative work, I encourage you to identify one small daily habit that would be meaningful to you.

When I work with writers, we simplify this process. We do a clear analysis, we focus our attention on what feels authentic to that writer, and how to create meaningful moments with readers.
Do you shy away from talking about your writing? Identify your Key Messages! These are statements that describe what you create and why in a manner that feels authentic, and connects with your ideal reader.
I want to suggest this as your new social media strategy: how can you make one person's day brighter? With so much talk of people leaving social media, or leaving a specific social network, I'm instead considering WHO I am showing up for, and how I can show up with INTENTION.
