In a world where dudes are taking 3 redshirts, playing at 4 different schools, and “graduating” at 26. SARAH TAFT-CARTER looked at AJ Peña, a guy that gave everything he had to The University of Rhode Island, and told him no he can’t play a fifth year. AJ played all 4 years for the Rams, no transfers, no redshirts, in the new 5 for 5 ruling he should be able to play another year. But since he graduated last season he is not eligible. Shame on her for denying him
On hearing that Reggie Jackson was reported to have an IQ of 165, Yankee teammate Mickey Rivers snidely replied:
"Out of what:
A thousand?"
Reggie Jackson, Billy Martin, Mickey Rivers.
@esanzi There’s going to be a huge exodus with current employees. And I can’t say the people working there now are All-Stars. Few are. The City will never attract competent employees going forward. Glad I moved out 10 years ago.
@KeaneyBlueBlood Back in the early 70’s they had caps with specific colleges such as College of Business, College of Engineering, etc. They were popular with the students but sparse.
@robbyrich811@BBGreatMoments Fans forget Pedro lost 2 years pitching in LA, and then the next 4 years in Montreal. Maddox had the benefit of longevity with the same manager and pitching coach.
The posts I come here to read I don’t see anymore. I can’t view my posts either. Did X change their format? Does anyone else have the same problem or am I the only one?
"Dewey Evans was a great offensive player and one of the greatest right fielder`s to play the game;
There’s no doubt in my mind that he belongs in the Baseball HOF."
Carl Yastrzemski.
Dwight Evans is the only player in history to win eight Gold Gloves while also leading his league for a decade in home runs and all of MLB in extra base hits and runs created.
Evans is one of just 13 players to have at least 2,400 hits, 1,450 runs, 1,375 walks, 1,375 RBI, 480 doubles and 385 home runs.
Of those 13, Evans is the only player previously eligible, not to have been enshrined in Cooperstown.
Dwight Evans has the same career OPS+ as Rickey Henderson (127), a higher one than Ernie Banks, Johnny Bench, Yogi Berra, Paul Molitor and Kirby Puckett.
Dwight Evans’ WAR (61.8), is higher than Andre Dawson, Harmon Killebrew, Willie Stargell, Billy Williams and Dave Winfield.
ALWAYS in my HOF!!!
