"Could be a huge fall for Dontayvion Wicks. He was described as a player that is expected to be featured “early and often” when asked about the potential target share behind DeVonta Smith."
Coming out of some conversations over the last few days as the 53 and practice squad were finalized, a few things that stood out regarding the Eagles:
• The team is extremely high on Willie Lampkin and Micah Morris, while Drew Kendall was brought up on multiple occasions, unprompted. Depth at iOL seemed to be in flux post-draft, but is now viewed as a massive strength.
• Could be a huge fall for Dontayvion Wicks. He was described as a player that is expected to be featured “early and often” when asked about the potential target share behind DeVonta Smith.
• Riq Woolen has a chip on his shoulder this fall. Source said they’ve seen the type of “fire” back in his game that made him so successful early in his career in Seattle — something that had lacked during his down stretches.
• Jordan Davis’ leadership has stood out inside the facility. He’s taken on a larger role vocally in meetings/walkthroughs, and multiple individuals simply cannot say enough good things about the way he’s embraced that responsibility.
• Expect Sean Mannion to find EJ Jenkins some touches at some point. They like his skill set as a tough and rugged former WR and what he can provide to the offense from multiple alignments.
• Michael Carter II is viewed as a key to unlocking some things on the backend. The Eagles love his versatility and ability to play up/down and inside/out.
Update: Preliminary indications are that Bears WR Rome Odunze should be all good after leaving today’s practice. Bears breaking for the weekend tonight.
RB TreVeyon Henderson (ankle) is not present for the media-access portion of practice. He hasn’t practiced since Aug. 24 when he sustained the injury.
Three practices left for the Patriots after today, as they prepare for the season opener at Seattle.
#Bears practice in the books. 2 hours. It was a hot one. They took about a 10 minute break for “halftime”.
D’Marco Jackson, Kyle Monangai, and Marcus Davenport did not practice.
Rome Odunze left practice early with what looked like a right leg issue. He walked off with the trainer. D’Andre Swift left late and was holding his stomach area.
The #AZCardinals’ deal for WR Michael Wilson is a 3-year, $75M extension with a maximum value of $78M, per me and @AdamSchefter.
He gets $47M guaranteed in a deal negotiated by Andrew Kessler at Athletes First.
WR Zay Flowers returned to practice.
Only Raven I did not see practicing was WR Devontez Walker.
Two practice squad moves. In: CB Lardarius Webb Jr and OT Chuma Edoga. Out: C Nick Dawkins and DB Amani Oruwariye.
Kellen Moore says Audric Estime and Kendre Miller are “just working through some stuff.” He said Kendre’s issue is not related to the back issue he dealt with during camp. #Saints
#Bucs HC Todd Bowles said that WRs Emeka Egbuka and Jalen McMillan are headed in the right direction with their injuries, but he’ll have a better gage of it next week.
Klint Kubiak was asked if he was optimistic on Ashton Jeanty being able to play Week 1 vs. Miami Dolphins.
His answer: “Yes,” with a sly grin.
