#DEAEurope Director Dan Dodds: "#DEA applauds the great work by our law enforcement partners @policia for yesterday’s arrest of fugitive Hugo Carvajal pursuant to drug conspiracy and narco-terrorism charges out of SDNY.” @SDNYnews
Seeing tweets like: “There are solutions to this problem, but many will find them morally grotesque and our leaders will surely cower in the face of what must be done”
And I can’t tell if they’re about Birthright Citizenship or what to do to the ref who gave the red card
.@StephenM: "We have people from all over the world from Third World nations; nations that, on their own, would've never invented the wheel, let alone modern technology...and they can just come into the country, have a baby at a hospital paid for by you and me, and then that baby's automatically a citizen?... Citizenship means NOTHING if it is open to everyone."
Immigration is the litmus test in our politics. You either want to stop robbing Americans of their birthright or believe that our nation is nothing more than the world's economic zone.
American citizens are the product of centuries of patriots, pioneers, and visionaries who fought and died to create the most prosperous nation in world history. But if American citizenship belongs to any foreign national who crosses over our borders and gives birth to a child, then the very concept of citizenship means nothing.
A few months ago, the New York Times wrote a story about a pregnant Honduran woman who was deported from the country and then traveled 1,700 miles to commit felony re-entry so her child could be born in America.
The Supreme Court just ruled that her baby is as much of a citizen as you and I.
One of the most destructive and outrageous decisions in the long history of the Supreme Court. American citizenship is not the birthright of the world. It belongs only and solely to Americans. No provision of the Constitution can be read to require our national self-obliteration.
