@British_Airways Thanks, Angela. To clarify, BA’s position is that I avoid the $150 only if I stay silent and don’t cancel. If I provide advance notice due to a cancer-related relocation, I’m charged. Got it!
Hi @British_Airways, I’m relocating due to a family cancer diagnosis and needed to add one bag + release my return seat. I was told the bag can’t be added online/phone and must be done at the airport, and that cancelling still costs $150 AUD even though BA will resell it.Escalate
@British_Airways Thanks, Angela. BA flies 24h 25m, the partner 1h 25m, yet BA bases refusal on the shortest leg. Forcing airport-only baggage handling isn’t partnership complexity, it’s BA’s service choice.
@British_Airways Hi @British_Airways, thanks for the DM. To restate your position:
• Bag can’t be added pre-departure
• Must attempt at airport with no guarantee
• Cancelling return seat you will resell still costs $150 AUD
• No escalation, even in medical relocation
Not asking for anything extraordinary. Just to check a bag early and release a seat BA will sell twice. “Sort it at the airport” during a medical relocation isn’t service - it’s avoidance. Airport roulette + double billing. @British_Airways
@AerLingus have been a nightmare! Flew Dublin to Gatwick on Thursday 4th and was delayed by 2 hours and now sitting in Gatwick to go back to Dublin and the same thing again, continuously delayed flight info! Always would have chosen to fly AerLingus but that will be changing!
