@LockAuthor @FirstTake @EvCoRadio Mendoza was widely regarded as a raw prospect with a first round ceiling. Hoover is coming into this season as a known commodity. Mendoza actually had a higher TO percentage per play than Hoover going into last season, but thrived under Cignetti.

Reading comprehension isn’t difficult. Could Urban have won at Alabama? Yes, no question. Could anyone have done what Cignetti did at IU? No.

@PardonMyTake @ChevyTrucks It’s easily Cignetti. Alabama was already a premier program when Saban got there. Indiana was the worst program in the history of CFB and Cignetti transformed that program into a machine. Saban is still the goat, but Bama was ready made. That’s just the facts.

@JoshPateCFB IU fan here, but some fans are obnoxious. I like them outside of the top five for reasons unbeknownst to some. They don’t play anyone OOC, but they’ll be well seasoned once their B1G schedule starts getting tough in the middle of the season. Their blueprint works.

@JoshPateCFB It’s fine, primarily because it’s just a preseason poll. I believe that you continue to see a trend of teams that did well in the transfer portal dominate over teams that prioritize high school rankings. The blueprint is out there, but balance is key.
