Eddie Howe got Aaron Ramsdale to fake an injury in the 8th minute, which took two minutes, all so he could pass on tactical instructions.

If Benjamin Šeško wanted to go to Newcastle, this wouldn't be carrying on. They're his backup plan if he can't get to Manchester United. If the club does not bid or decide it's an overpay, he has somewhere else to go.

Put this another way - if this was Real Madrid & Manchester United in the same scenario & United were bidding again & again while Real Madrid were waiting it out, perception of this deal would be very different.
