A sister in my ward shared a story in her talk today that I loved.
Her coworker found out she was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was very intrigued by her beliefs.
One day at work, he asked her, “Who was the guy that founded your church again?”
Without hesitation she answered, “Jesus.”
She said that after she answered she could tell by the look on his face that it wasn’t the answer he was hoping for or expecting.
She then gave a short explanation of the Restoration and why Jesus Christ is the founder of our Church, knowing the guy was expecting to hear her say Joseph Smith.
I thought this was an awesome example of correcting a common misconception about our beliefs!
Jesus Christ is the founder of our Church. Our Church is in His name and we worship Him.
We do not belong to the Church of Joseph Smith.
We do not belong to the Church of Mormon.
We belong to the Church of Jesus Christ.
Joseph Smith is a prophet, called by God to restore the Church founded by Jesus Christ. But Jesus Christ is the figurehead of our faith.
Let’s continue to proclaim this without hesitation!
Joseph Smith failed at every thing he ever tried. Farming. Banking. Politics. His life was a litany of failures
But then there was the Church
Where, with the power of God and not his own strength, he brought forth the Book of Mormon & restored Christ's Church
Praise to the Man
Jonh Wick kills people for killing his dog. Citizen Vigilante kills the killers and 🍇ists, and the judges who let them free.
Why is Jonh Wick non-problematic but Citizen Vigilante is?
Is the message of fighting a corrupt governament and 3rd world imigration a bad message?
It’s illegal to bring a foreign plant into the country because it might upset the ecosystem… but importing millions of people from the Third World apparently makes total fucking sense?

I will never shut up about the sketchy, textured look of 1960s Disney animation. There is so much warmth, soul in these rough, hand-drawn frames of The Sword in the Stone.
