@SavagePoker Asking their intention prevents inexperienced players from getting screwed and discouraged. Afterwards, the dealer can explain the one chip rule, and say next time they have to say "raise" or grab the $5 chip and toss it out with the $25 chip.

@SavagePoker In a $5/10 cash game, it folds to the SB who tosses out one $25 while leaving the $5 chip. 99% of rec players are intending to raise to $30, even though the rules say it's a call. Dealers and the BB simply ask the SB if they were trying to raise, they say yes. Everyone is happy.

@LouStagner Not exactly the topic of the handicap system but indirectly related: any data on what percentage of people play golf by the rules? For example, most people I have played with treat OB and lost balls the same as lateral hazards and are not even aware that is incorrect.

@PlayDCGolf the range balls at East Potomac driving range are in very bad condition and in need of replacement. Also, the technology that tracks the ball flight on the computer is inaccurate regarding ball travel distance yardages -- perhaps it can be recalibrated.
