@beccajiggens Indeed, 100% agree.
The kind of person who does this is not only cowardly, but is also a vindictive, unprofessional, hypocritical, malignant narcissist who throws their toys out the proverbial pram and is likely not as smart nor as competent as they like to think they are.
I knew that if I didn't show up, Patrick wouldn't be angry but would definitely have been disappointed...
I should point out that I am within a few months of being the same age as him (we would have been in the same year at school and college/6th Form).
I had a weird dream last night where @PatrickEBoyle was my Maths teacher at 6th Form (in the late 1990's - it was a Stranger Things type setting) - In the dream I hadn't been to maths class in a few weeks and Patrick asked if I was going to be attending that day.
I'm joining the 'X'odus and going elsewhere (a place where the sky is a bit bluer - same profile pic, same handle). I'll keep this profile around and keep an eye on posts or DMs for the time being.
@erikaishii If it's going to upset bigoted assholes, then it's gotta be good!
I am positively quivering with antici..........................................................................PATION!!!
@AaronPorter I am genuinely shocked for Leicester South (my constituency). I didn't think my vote really counted since it's been a Labour stronghold for all the time I've lived here. It seems I was wrong (I even considered a cheeky Lib Dem vote, but in end I voted safe... or so I thought!)
@AaronPorter@PolitlcsUK @AndyWWestwood @BBCNews Absolutely. I think with the many boundary changes, the extrapolated figures at the low end of the scale (especially Reform) make it very nebulous. It *might* be true in a few marginals, but 13? I think (hope) not
@AaronPorter It would need to be someone who isn't so progressive as to scare the more conservative Democrats, nor too conservative to scare the progressive Democrats. Basically, a real-world Matthew Santos (from West Wing).
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov says the #TrumpGuiltyVerdict conviction shows the White House is "eliminating its political rivals by all possible legal and illegal means".
Not sure if this is irony, hypocrisy or just fucking funny (in a tragic and shameful way)?
@qwertyop80@RealKevinNash This is a State conviction, not Federal, and even if he becomes President again, the pardon power doesn't extend to state convictions.
@SaraLUckelman Typically, the registration deadline is 16-18 days before the day of the election. So, a ballpark deadline date for this one would be 16th or 17th June 2024.
I'm sure the exact date will be forthcoming, but that's a quick estimate.
