New account of the real Dan Kervick, philosopher, socialist internationalist, ultra-left and tankie extremist, committed disorganizer, proudly abnormal.
My original and 17-year old @X account was stolen from me on April 28th. @X support has done nothing. I have created this new account and have now gone from 35.5K followers to 31 followers. If you see this, please repost and ask my old followers to follow me here.
Darializa Avila Chevalier, the Democratic nominee for NY-13, revealed that the NYPD officer who shoved her during protests over an ICE shooting in northern Manhattan was a community affairs officer, whose job is to de-escalate tensions.
“There are too many police officers who are engaging in this kind of behavior,” she said.
Avila Chevalier has called for NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch to resign. She said Oscar Belgal, who was shot by ICE agents, remains detained in Brooklyn, with a bullet still in his body.

Mamdani broke norms to keep her on in the first place, but the establishment left won’t let facts get between their tongues and their emotional support politician’s rear.
Me when I believe an unverifiable Instagram comment to own the Palestinians protesting their families and communities being slaughtered because they made the politician I have a parasocial relationship with sad
One thing that we have seen happen time and time again is that predominantly Arab and Muslim students / youth - who are forging their own political identity and activism and thus language in this country - continue to be relegated by supposed sympathizers to Palestinians as “extremists”, “idiots”, “Feds” and “psyops”.
These people are no different, in true principle, from those who led the violent and political repression of student speech and encampments across 2024 and 2025. And they have wasted more of their breath punching down, on those without material power, than even sharing the names of the children Israel killed this past week in Gaza with the bombs they paid for with their tax dollars.
For a lot of people, the only acceptable form and language of activism around Palestine is that which comes from the JVP of their choice or online commentator (either a single chosen Palestinian or any non-Palestinian).
At the core of this, which is what we have not actually dismantled at a discursive level, is the dehumanization & subhumanity of Palestinians (Arabs & Muslims) and the unbreakable sacrosanct humanity of Israelis (Jews, especially white) at the expense of Palestinian life.
You know, if the Zionists ever succeeded in getting Hamas out of Gaza (they won’t), they would just switch to labeling some other group the enemy that must be fought. Because their real problem with Gaza, and the rest of Palestine, is that there are Palestinians there.
Update: It does have a QR code
Also, it's made by Sig Sauer, a company whose CEO is not American and did not serve in the US military but guess what country he is from and guess what military he did serve in
But evvvverrryoneee has an opinion on what Palestinians should be demanding when it comes to their own existence and survival in year four of the genocide that could not have happened without the Democrats.
It’s just beyond belief the size, scale, and audacity of the giant far-right drug cartel that Narco Rubio has been steadily building across the breadth of Latin America
@richards1052 it is entirely reasonable and necessary for the movement to keep pushing zohran to deliver on his campaign promises to make reforms to the police and fight zionism materially in nyc
If someone sells land that they do not own, isn’t that fraud? Doesn’t the city of New York have the authority to prosecute fraud committed within its jurisdiction? The 1st amendment protects religious worship. It doesn’t protect crimes like fraud committed on religious property.
The Saudis, with your support, murdered hundreds of thousands of Yemeni civilians and restarted their genocidal war by bombing Sana'a International Airport. What sort of monster are you?
This is a slide from Terence Tao's 'Math 2.0' public lecture yesterday evening at Caltech. I am highly confident that, if the cure actually worked, almost any Stage 4 cancer patient would tell you that human comprehension of its mechanism is completely irrelevant to them.
On a personal level, I like @ZohranKMamdani and I think his longstanding support for Palestine is sincere (unlike say @aoc). But politicians cannot be judged on intentions and feelings, only by policies and actions. This is a sensible and factual analysis with clear and moderate demands that New Yorkers have every right to make and are well within @NYCMayor’s power. If people aren’t out there protesting and making noise none of it will happen. We just can’t be satisfied with gestures and half measures in year four of this genocide. If you don’t want to go out and demand more that’s your right. But at least don’t attack those willing to do the hard work.
@ireallyhateyou I called him out last year for going to the same vigil, instead of supporting Palestinian protests. Most people told me to not say anything until he wins and we can hold him accountable after. This year when others protested, they were chastised.

Professor Joseph Massad is a once in a generation intellect, with boundless knowledge and extraordinary courage. He rarely gives interviews and I cannot recommend this one enough.
"Palestinians should not fear those who seek to bully us into submission."
That was @susanabulhawa's message after she successfully fought, with the help of @elsclegal, to have her uncensored speech re-released by the Oxford Union.
@petersterne Are you just inferring this? Because this is patently false.
PYM endorsed the protest as did WOL and many other orgs. It was organized by student organizers.
