We have been deeply moved by the many tributes being paid to Kevin Keegan and know that many supporters will wish to honour his memory at St. James’ Park.

Those who would like to leave flowers, scarves or other tributes can do so at the South West Corner of the stadium. We kindly ask everyone to follow the directions of club staff when visiting.

While we understand that many people would like to enter the stadium, we are unfortunately unable to open the stadium bowl at this time due to ongoing works taking place within the bowl and overhead. We appreciate your understanding as we continue to ensure the safety of everyone.

We will be providing details shortly on where supporters can sign a book of condolence.

Please also note that the scheduled launch of the club's new away kit, due to be tomorrow, has been postponed until Friday.

My first experience of football was watching his Newcastle side play the most entertaining games in premier league history. He’s part of the reason I love the game and he gave me some unbelievable memories when I was a kid!

He was so passionate about the club, I loved his honesty and how he always said what he believed to be true where other managers wouldn’t have been so brave. I suppose that’s why his teams were so fearless.

I remember sometimes he would openly criticise himself in interviews and just be so genuine. Very different to the politician interviews from today’s crop of managers.

I’m gutted we didn’t get to give him a thank you moment at a game after his diagnosis 😢 he deserves a thank you from every single Newcastle fan because without him the club wouldn’t be what it is… he’s in the DNA of NUFC.

Even now football fans everywhere still reference the “I would love it” interview from 30 years ago, that passion was felt by every football fan because we’ve all felt that exact way about the game.

Big love to King Kev! truly an unforgettable football man who deserves every kind word said about him. 🖤🤍

Devastated to hear about Kevin Keegan. Growing up watching football, he was one of the names that defined an era, a double Ballon d’Or winner, European Cup champion, England captain, and one of the most exciting players the game has seen.

It is with immense sadness that we announce that Kevin Keegan has passed away at the age of 75. The former England player and manager had been battling cancer and was surrounded by his wife and daughters in his final moments. Kevin, a double Ballon D’or winner, was a much loved husband, father and grandfather. The family would like to thank Kevin’s incredible medical team for all their support. This is a hugely difficult time and they are requesting space and privacy.
