Restored a lovely George ll walnut chest on chest , conserved and waxed finished after water damage to the carcass .resulting in many loose veneers and mouldings
@sawinerywoodwrk It’s more common than you would think, often will see markings , working out drawings , left by the cabinet maker . Even had a note leavening a chest to a relative recently dated 1806
Restoring a Georgian 1780 linen press, replacing worn out runners and come across a drawing for a library/ work table full scale on pine construction timber , showing the workings of the cabinet maker left behind
@NicholasDougl17@fugitiveink Hard to put a value on such an item, as I manly deal with the restoration, depending on the period , condition, were it was made will all have an influence on its value
@NicholasDougl17@fugitiveink It has been around for nearly 300+ years, I’m shore it’s seen a lot worse. A little beeswax and elbow grease will bring back the colour and sheen
@fugitiveink I couldn’t work out stool or table , using your cat as guide for size.😂Lovely stool with the peg joints . Would say 17th century from here .
@KazBiker@SuperSausageCaf Definitely is, local for me . So nice to get out and see a great mixture of vehicles . Nice for a change that the sun appeared .
