Day 8.
It’s been almost a month since my last update.
Not because I quit.
Life got busy — full-time work, family, responsibilities. And honestly, I also fell back into overthinking instead of building.
But during this break, I realized something important:
Consistency matters more than intensity.
I don’t need to master everything at once.
I just need to keep moving forward.
So today I’m starting again.
Small steps:
Unity && C#
Game Design
Concept Art
3D Modeling
Building real projects
No reset button.
No “perfect comeback.”
Just continuing the journey.
Day 7.
Yesterday, I got distracted again.
I started thinking about how cool it would be to quickly build and publish a game right now.
But I caught myself.
I realized I’m still missing important fundamentals, and if I keep skipping the gaps, it’ll only slow me down later.
So instead of rushing ahead, I’m taking that lesson seriously.
That experience reminded me that discipline and foundation matter more than hype.
Today, I’m back to learning.
Filling the gaps. Moving forward. One step at a time.
Day 6.
Still focused on C#.
Started from the basics — variables, simple math, strings.
Now moving into loops and conditions: if/else, for loops.
There were a few moments where I felt tempted to jump into something else.
But I stayed focused.
No rushing. Just building the foundation, one step at a time.
Day 4 (yesterday was Day 3 😅).
Even during short breaks, I try to keep learning.
It’s not easy — but these small moments add up.
Just a few minutes here and there… still moving forward.
No shortcuts. Just focus on one thing at a time.
Day 4.
Today was hard.
Woke up at 5:00 AM.
Drove 3 hours to work.
Full day on the job.
Then back to the hotel.
I had no energy left.
But I still pushed myself to sit down and do a small C# exercise.
Nothing big. Just showing up.
Now it’s time to sleep.
Tomorrow — Day 5.
Day 3.
Still working on C# variables.
Honestly… it’s boring.
Simple exercises. Basic concepts. Repetition.
But I’m starting to understand something important — this is how real progress happens.
No shortcuts. Just focus on one thing at a time.
@IndieGameDAV Wow, that sounds like an awesome journey — hope you’ll share more of it.
Also curious, what VR headset are you using? Meta Quest or something else?
Today I made the decision to restart my journey into game development.
For a while, I thought the smartest and most unique path was to try to master every possible skill a game developer could have. But in reality, that mindset was stopping me from making real progress.
The truth is, that approach doesn’t work when you have real responsibilities.
I have a full-time job, three kids, and I’m doing everything I can to provide for my family. Time is limited, and I can’t afford to waste it anymore.
So I decided to reset and simplify everything.
From now on, I’m focusing on just two core skills: C# with Unity, and Game Design. No distractions. No trying to do everything at once. Just consistent progress, step by step.
This is Day 0.
Let’s see how far I can go.
Day 1.
It’s 9:32 PM.
After a long day of work, I almost didn’t do anything today. I was tired and honestly ready to skip it.
But something inside me said: no… just show up.
So I did.
Today I kept it simple — just refreshing my understanding of C# variables.
Nothing big. But it’s a step.
And right now, that’s all that matters.
Yeah, I thought I could do it all at first too.
But honestly, it slowed me down a lot.
Maybe if I were younger and didn’t have as many responsibilities, I’d go for it — but for now, I’m focusing on just a couple of core skills and taking it step by step.
How’s your game coming along? I saw you pushed the release to Q4 2026.
Setting up my game design workspace today:
• Figma for UI mockups
• Notion for design docs
• Paper + pen for sketching mechanics
• GDC vault for studying
Zero budget, maximum learning. If you're starting game design, this setup costs nothing but time.

Finally understand what people mean by core mechanic.
Spent the weekend breaking down Celeste. The core mechanic isn't the double jump—it's the feeling of control. Every pixel of movement matters.
Now I'm sketching my first mechanic with that lens. Game design is harder than I thought. 🎮

Clean slate time. 🧹
Just muted a bunch of noise on my feed — finance, industry gossip, stuff that doesn't matter for MY journey.
Here's what's changing: I'm focusing HARD on game design. Learning. Building.
Real talk about the chaos of doing this while working full-time.
No more dilution. Just the grind.
Let's go. 🎮

@thomasbrushdev So I like the show, the only thing is that it's progressing very slowly. I would love to shrink the preparation episodes to 3—we're almost at the end of the season and only just starting to get meat of season.
