Hi, I'm Dan Schwartz.

I'm running for Congress against Maryland's only Republican congressman, Andy Harris.

I get why our race caught fire this week, but the people of MD01 are not a viral clip.

I sure don't call people asking me questions rude and I don't threaten journalists but the reason I'm running is to fight for Maryland families, protect health care, and take on corruption.

I've been a consumer watchdog for 14 years holding financial institutions accountable and putting money back in families' pockets.

Let me be direct: if we are able to get our message out in every corner of the district, we are going to win. It's that simple.

People are fed up with skyrocketing gas prices and the affordability crisis, and they are crossing party lines. These are not normal times.

My opponent Andy Harris hadn’t faced constituents in over three years.

So I knew he’d be rusty.

I just didn’t expect it against the audience and the local journalists on that level.

He was so confidently wrong on Maryland law, same energy as blaming Democrats for gas prices.

Andy Harris voted to cut $453 million from the Social Security Administration and called it efficiency. I call it longer hold times on the phones, longer waits at the office, and longer waits on disability approvals for people who need help. That’s not acceptable to me. These are benefits we earned, plan for, and rely on.

My plan is to scrap the tax cap, because millionaires and billionaires shouldn’t get to stop paying into Social Security in January while you keep paying every paycheck, all year.

Our campaign is continuing to get a lot of attention as Rep. Harris gives more interviews and MD-1 has been shifted from "safe-red" to "likely-red". I'll go on any news network or talk to any journalist about this race--left leaning, right-leaning, doesn't matter to me. It's the job of a candidate to get the word out as much as they can.
I want this job.

Dr. Harris is an Obstetric Anesthesiologist, but now it seems like he might just be a Spin Doctor.

He tried to intimidate a student reporter by falsely citing Maryland’s two-party recording law, then threatened her with prosecution and called for an officer. When Fox 45’s Mikenzie Frost called him out, he doubled down, claiming he followed the law and simply left the room.

That's not what happened. He stayed for over three minutes, fighting. And that law only covers private conversations, not a room full of reporters (that he invited).

Rep. Andy Harris went on Fox 45 to explain himself. He just couldn't bring himself to apologize, instead he blamed the journalist and the "liberal media."

I teach my kids to say sorry when they mess up.
Apparently some Congressmen never learned.

Now imagine calling his office to tell him he got something wrong. We can do better.

Russia is helping Iran target American troops. This administration’s response? Lift sanctions on Russian diesel. That’s not only wrong. It’s disgusting.

It’s also a pattern of letting powerful people who do horrible things to Americans off the hook. My team helped hold a crypto billionaire accountable for laundering money for terrorists. This administration responded with a full and complete pardon.

Even Republican senators are demanding the Russian diesel deal be reversed. Andy Harris finally said he’s against it when asked at our debate, but he hasn’t lifted a finger to stop it. He’d rather blame Democrats. The Eastern Shore deserves a congressman who fights when our troops are at risk.

Ummm here’s 1 thing w could do:

Not defund the VA and roll us back to before the PACT Act was passed, which required us to care for members of our armed forces who are exposed to burn pits, among other things. It significantly increased VA benefits for people who desperately need them. Rep. Harris voted against the 2022 legislation and has supported Secretary Collins efforts to hollow out the VA. As a veteran himself, I would expect him to know better.

Our House Speaker was unanimously elected to her position and also leads the Rural Caucus, a bipartisan group of state delegates from our states most rural counties. Respectfully, what are you talking about?

Sure not everyone is going to agree with her on every action—I don’t on question 3—but leading a state legislature is hard work and she’s doing a great job.
