As AI reshapes the world, I have a question:
Are any major religions approaching AI the way The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is?
From FamilySearch and genealogy to social media and now AI, the Church seems to have a long history of engaging with new technology rather than retreating from it.
Not embracing every trend blindly.
But learning, adapting, and finding ways to use technology for good.
Am I missing other faith traditions that are taking a similar approach?
@Salt_n_Smoke Ok...so if the Atonement was retroactive, then I don't see the problem with a prophet who lived before Christ speaking of the Atonement before it happened, as if it had already happened.
Is artificial intelligence helping you grow, or quietly replacing your growth?
I invite you to join me at https://t.co/B5xFoUsTw6 on June 7 as we discuss how to hear God's voice in an age of artificial intelligence.
God does not give commandments without also providing pathways for us to live them.
No one knows you or your situation like He does. Trust Him. Follow Him. Love Him.
Invite Him to create miracles in your life.
@stackerco@RavnReborn It’s two parts- Satan attempting to separate Adam and Eve from God, and God accepting them and working with them to overcome their now-fallen nature.
@RavnReborn Sure dude, I’m wrong about my own religion and sincerely-held beliefs. You’re obviously more studied and a more authoritative source of information. 🤔
Of those 7 points;
1. Not doctrine.
2. God did promise in Romans 8 that we are heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ.
3. Probably, but this is not doctrine.
4. Kind of. You need to go read Doctrine and Covenants 76.
5. Again, kind of true. We do believe that there are certain necessary ordinances that must done in order to enter into a full covenant relationship with Christ.
6. Not true. Only those who have Faith in Jesus Christ and enter into a covenant relationship with Him enter God’s kingdom. Those who don’t are granted a lesser glory in the eternities. See doctrine and covenants section 76.
7. Again, not true. The Bible and Book of Mormon compliment each other, but one is not greater than the other.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I got to participate in yesterday’s 5th Sunday discussion on The Declaration of Independence, The US Constitution, and religious liberty.
The United States of America is unique in the history of the world for many reasons. As stated in Doctrine and Covenants 101:77-80, these are inspired documents, created by inspired men, and documents I consider Scripture.
These documents are especially important because they are the first governing documents to recognize that rights are granted by God, not government. They establish essential freedoms, like speech, press, assembly, and religion, that no government before had guaranteed. It is the longest-standing government Constitution in the world, and most modern government Constitutions and founding documents are based on or heavily influenced by the US Constitution.
On a personal note, I’ve been to and lived in many places where the basic rights and privileges we enjoy in the United States aren’t protected. I’ve seen what happens when governments become tyrannical, overreaching, oppressive, and corrupt. The United States is not a perfect country. The guaranteed freedoms granted by the US Constitution largely prevent and protect the United States from devolving into a 3rd world hellhole.
A am grateful to be an American, and that I can enjoy the rights and privileges guaranteed by our founding documents and that have been secured by our forefathers. It is my sincere hope that there continues to be American Patriots who are willing to stand up to oppressive governments, policies, and ideologies that would ultimately destroy the God-given freedoms and rights enjoyed in the United States and many other Western nations.
